TABARANI 19617:
from Ibn Abū Najīḥ —
[Machine] Narrated by Mujahid, in his saying {And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful}. Abu Bakr swore that an orphan would not benefit from his companionship, and this news spread, meaning it spread to Aisha. When this verse was revealed, Abu Bakr said, "I love that Allah may forgive me and I will be better to Him than I was."
الطبراني ١٩٦١٧:
عن ابن ابو نجيح —
