[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Whoever takes something found is considered lost until he identifies it."  

الكبرى للنسائي:٥٧٧٤ – الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَالِمٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَخَذَ لُقَطَةً فَهُوَ ضَالٌّ مَا لَمْ يُعَرِّفْهَا»

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ آوَى ضَالَّةً فَهُوَ ضَالٌّ مَا لَمْ يُعَرِّفْهَا  

ذِكْرُ إِثْبَاتِ اسْمِ الضَّالِّ عَلَى مَنْ لَمْ يُعَرِّفِ الضَّوَالَّ، إِذَا وَجَدَهَا
