The Prophet ﷺ prostrated in Sad and said: "Dawud did this prostration in repentance and we do it in thanksgiving." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 957)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَجَدَ فِي {ص} [ص 1] وَقَالَ «سَجَدَهَا دَاوُدُ تَوْبَةً وَنَسْجُدُهَا شُكْرًا»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "During the prostration of Sajdah, Dawood made it as an act of repentance and we make it in gratitude."
