44. Names of Allah
It was narrated from ʿAli ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ used to say at the end of his Witr ʿO Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, I seek refuge in Your forgiveness from Your punishment, I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot praise You enough, You are as You have praised Yourself.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 751)
[Machine] The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led the people in prayer, then he delivered a sermon and left. Then he said, "O Ummah of Muhammad, there is no one more unjust than Allah if His slave commits zina or if his Ummah commits zina, in a concise manner."
[Machine] I heard Anas bin Malik saying, "Zainab used to boast among the Prophet's wives and say, 'Allah married me to him from the heavens.'" Then Yahya said, "Do you mean the saying of Allah, 'We married her to you?' (referring to verse 33:37 of Surah Al-Ahzab)."
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I had a maid who used to take care of my sheep for me. I came to her and found that one of the sheep was missing. I asked her about it and she said, 'A wolf ate it.' I felt sorry for her and as I am from Banu Adam, I slapped her on the face and hit her on the neck. Should I free her?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her, "Where is Allah?" She replied, "In the sky." He asked her, "Who am I?" She said, "You are the Messenger of Allah." He said, "Free her."
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne, "My Mercy overpowers My Anger." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3194)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not make me choose between myself and Musa, for on the Day of Judgment, people will be struck with shock and I will be the first one to regain consciousness. When Musa holds onto the edge of the Throne, I do not know whether he was also struck and regained consciousness before me, or if he was one of those whom Allah exempted."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "There is no Muslim who gives charity from what is good and Allah does not accept it except what is good, and it does not ascend to the heavens except what is good. It is as if he places it in the palm of the Merciful and He raises it up as a man raises up his foal or young horse until such that the date becomes as huge as a great mountain."
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Angels come to you in succession by night and day and all of them get together at the time of the Fajr and ʿAsr prayers. Those who have passed the night with you (or stayed with you) ascend (to the Heaven) and Allah asks them, though He knows everything about you, well, "In what state did you leave my slaves?" The angels reply: "When we left them they were praying and when we reached them, they were praying." (Using translation from Bukhārī 555)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us on the night of the full moon and said, "You will see your Lord on the Day of Resurrection as you see this (full moon) and you will have no difficulty in seeing Him." (Using translation from Bukhārī 7436)
[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a night when our vision became clear, so we started looking at the moon of the night of the full moon. He said, "Indeed, you will see your Lord as you see the moon, you will not be harmed by looking at Him. If you are able to not miss the two prayers before the sunrise and before the sunset, then do so." And he recited, "{And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord}" [Surah Ta-Ha, verse 130].
[Machine] We asked, "O Messenger of Allah, will we see our Lord?" He said, "Do you see the sun on a cloudless day, and do you see the moon on a cloudless night?" We said, "Yes." He said, "So indeed, you will see your Lord."
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Indeed, I have told you about the Antichrist (Dajjal) until I feared you would not understand. He is short, with a hunchback, curly hair, and a blind left eye. It will neither be protruding nor sunken. Indeed, your Lord (Blessed and Exalted be He) is not one-eyed. And you will not see your Lord until you die."
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Two gardens, the utensils and the contents of which are of silver, and two other gardens, the utensils and contents of which are of gold. And nothing will prevent the people who will be in the Garden of Eden from seeing their Lord except the curtain of Majesty over His Face." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4878)
"The Messenger of Allah recited this Verse: 'For those who have done good is the best reward and even more.' Then he said: 'When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, and the people of the Fire enter the Fire, a caller will cry out: "O people of Paradise! You have a covenant with Allah and He wants to fulfill it." They will say: "What is it?" Has Allah not made the Balance (of our good deeds) heavy, and made our faces bright, and admitted us to Paradise and saved us from Hell?" Then the Veil will be lifted and they will look upon Him, and by Allah, Allah will not give them anything that is more beloved to them or delightful, than looking upon Him.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 187)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah welcomes two men with a smile; one of whom kills the other and both of them enter Paradise. One fights in Allah's Cause and gets killed. Later on Allah forgives the 'killer who also get martyred (In Allah's Cause)." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2826)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Our Lord who is blessed and exalted descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last one-third of the night remains, and says: Who supplicated Me so that I may answer him ? Who asks of Me so that I may give to him ? Who asks My forgiveness so that I may forgive him ? (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1315)
[Machine] I saw Muawiyah when he had recovered from an illness and he was giving a speech. His arms were folded and they appeared like the branches of a palm tree. He said, "Is the world anything other than what we have tasted and experienced? By Allah, I wish I did not have a choice among you, but pray that Allah gathers me with Him." At that moment, a man stood up and said, "To the mercy of Allah, O Commander of the Believers." Muawiyah replied, "Rather, to whatever Allah wills for me. And Allah knows that I have not swerved from the truth, and if Allah disliked anything, He would have changed it."
