41.1. Cutting off the Hands of a Thief
٤١.١۔ كِتَابُ قَطْعِ السَّارِقِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "A deed performed on land is better for the people of the land than being rained upon for thirty mornings." Yunus ibn Ubayd stood up and disagreed with him in some of his words.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «حَدٌّ يُعْمَلُ بِهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَيْرٌ لِأَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ مِنْ أَنْ يُمْطَرُوا ثَلَاثِينَ صَبَاحًا» وَقْفَهَ يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ وَخَالَفَهُ فِي بَعْضِ أَلْفَاظِهِ
"Abu Hurairah said: 'Carrying out a Hadd punishment in a land is better for its people than if it were to rain for forty nights." (Daif) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4905)
قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «إِقَامَةُ حَدٍّ يُعْمَلُ بِأَرْضٍ خَيْرٌ لِأَهْلِهَا مِنْ مَطَرٍ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً» وَهَذَا الصَّوَابُ وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ
