Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for me, I pour water three times on my head." And he pointed with both his hands.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثًا وَأَشَارَ بِيَدَيْهِ كِلْتَيْهِمَا

The people contended amongst themselves in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with regard to bathing. Some of them said: We wash our heads like this and this. Upon this the Messenger ﷺ said: As for me I pour three handfuls of water upon my head.

تَمَارَوْا فِي الْغُسْلِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ أَمَّا أَنَا فَإِنِّي أَغْسِلُ رَأْسِي كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَإِنِّي أُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثَ أَكُفٍّ

People made a mention of washing because of sexual defilement before the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said: I pour (water) on my head three times. And he made a sign with both his hands.

عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّهُمْ ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْغُسْلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثًا وَأَشَارَ بِيَدَيْهِ كِلْتَيْهِمَا

"They argued about Ghusl in the presence of the messenger of Allah ﷺ. One of the people said: 'I perform Ghusl in such-and-such a manner.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'As for me, I pour three handfuls of water over my head.'"

تَمَارَوْا فِي الْغُسْلِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ إِنِّي لأَغْسِلُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثَ أَكُفٍّ

"As for me, I pour water on my head three times."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ الْغُسْلُ فَقَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثًا لَفْظُ سُوَيْدٍ

"(The Companions) disputed in the presence of the Messenger of Allah about having a bath to cleanse oneself from sexual impurity. The Messenger of Allah said: 'As for me, I pour three handfuls of water on my head.'"

تَمَارَوْا فِي الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثَ أَكُفٍّ

"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I live in a cold land, so how should I have a bath to cleanse myself from sexual impurity?' He said: 'As for me, I pour three handfuls of water over my head.'"

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَا فِي أَرْضٍ بَارِدَةٍ فَكَيْفَ الْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَحْثُو عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثًا

[AI] It was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about Ghusl (ritual bath) from Janabah (sexual impurity). The Prophet ﷺ replied, "As for me, I pour water over my head three times."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا

[AI] We learned about washing ritual impurity (janabah) in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for me, I take a handful of water three times and pour it over my head, and then I pour it over the rest of my body."

تَذَاكَرْنَا غُسْلَ الْجَنَابَةِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَّا أَنَا فَآخُذُ مِلْءَ كَفِّي ثَلَاثًا فَأَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثُمَّ أُفِيضُهُ بَعْدُ عَلَى سَائِرِ جَسَدِي

I pour water over my head thrice. (Using translation from Muslim 327b)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ ذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ الْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا

[AI] They mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about washing away impurity (janabah), so he said, "As for me, I pour water three times over my head." Then he gestured with his hand as if he was pouring water with it onto his head.

ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْغُسْلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا» ثُمَّ أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ كَأَنَّهُ يُفِيضُ بِهِمَا عَلَى الرَّأْسِ

[AI] It was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about performing the ablution after sexual impurity, so he said, "As for me, I pour water on my head three times."

ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا»

[AI] We learned from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ how to perform the ritual purification after sexual impurity (janabah). The Prophet ﷺ said, "As for me, I pour water on my head three times and then I wash my head to purify it from janabah."

تَذَاكَرْنَا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ غُسْلَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي مَرَّاتٍ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَأَغْسِلُ رَأْسِي مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ»

عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّهُمْ ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْغُسْلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا وَأَشَارَ بِيَدَيْهِ كِلْتَيْهِمَا»

"(The Companions) disputed in the presence of the Messenger of Allah about having a bath to cleanse oneself from sexual impurity. The Messenger of Allah said: 'As for me, I pour three handfuls of water on my head.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 575)

تَمَارَيْنَا فِي الْغُسْلِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثَةَ أَكُفٍّ»

"(The Companions) disputed in the presence of the Messenger of Allah about having a bath to cleanse oneself from sexual impurity. The Messenger of Allah said: 'As for me, I pour three handfuls of water on my head.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 575)

تَمَارَوْا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا»

[AI] The washing was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, "As for me, it suffices me to pour water over my head three times, cupping my hands, from the state of major impurity."

ذُكِرَ الْغُسْلُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَإِنَّهُ يَكْفِينِي أَنْ أَصُبَّ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ مِلْءَ كَفِّي مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ»

[AI] We mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ about washing after sexual impurity, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "As for me, I perform ablution (wudu) for prayer, then I take a handful of water three times and pour it on my head, then I perform a ritual bath (ghusl)."

ذَكَرْنَا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْغُسْلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوئِي لِلصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ آخُذُ مِلْءَ كَفِّي ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَأَصُبُّهُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثُمَّ أغْتَسِلُ»

[AI] The washing of janabah (major ritual impurity) was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and he said, "As for me, I pour water thrice onto my head."

ذُكِرَ غُسْلُ الْجَنَابَةِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَإِنِّي أَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا»

"They argued about Ghusl in the presence of the messenger of Allah ﷺ. One of the people said: 'I perform Ghusl in such-and-such a manner.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'As for me, I pour three handfuls of water over my head.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 250)

تَمَارُوا فِي الْغُسْلِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ إِنِّي لَأَغْتَسِلُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَإِنِّي أُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثَ أَكُفٍّ»
