Messenger of Allah ﷺ handed over the land of Khaibar (on the condition) of the share of produce of fruits and harvest, and he also gave to his wives every year one hundred wasqs: eighty wasqs of dates and twenty wasqs of barley. When 'Umar became the caliph he distributed the (lands and trees) of Khaibar, and gave option to the wives of Allah's Apostle ﷺ to earmark for themselves the land and water or stick to the wasqs (that they got) every year. They differed in this matter. Some of them opted for land and water, and some of them opted for wasqs every year. 'A'isha and Hafsa were among those who opted for land and water.

The Prophet ﷺ concluded a contract with the people of Khaibar to utilize the land on the condition that half the products of fruits or vegetation would be their share. The Prophet ﷺ used to give his wives one hundred Wasqs each, eighty Wasqs of dates and twenty Wasqs of barley. (When ʿUmar became the Caliph) he gave the wives of the Prophet ﷺ the option of either having the land and water as their shares, or carrying on the previous practice. Some of them chose the land and some chose the Wasqs, and ʿAisha chose the land.

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ treated the people of Khaybar by giving his wives a hundred saa' (unit of measurement) of dates and twenty saa' of barley every year for their expenses, from what was harvested. When Umar ibn al-Khattab became the leader, he divided the land of Khaybar and gave the wives of the Prophet ﷺ the choice to either have a portion of the land or to receive their annual expenses. They differed in their choices, some choosing to have a portion of the land and others choosing to receive their annual expenses. Hafsah and Aisha were among those who chose to receive their annual expenses.

[Machine] Allah ﷺ treated the people of Khaybar with half of what comes out of crops or fruits. He used to give his wives a hundred measures of dates, eighty measures of barley, and twenty measures of wheat every year. When Umar ibn al-Khattab became the ruler, he distributed Khaybar and gave the Prophet's wives the choice between having land and water or receiving a fixed annual income. They disagreed, and some of them chose the land and water, while others chose the fixed income. Aisha and Hafsah chose to have land and water. This narration is mentioned in the hadith of Abu Damrah and in the narration of Ali ibn Mus-hir.

"عن نافعٍ! أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ أَعْطَى أَزْوَاجَهُ مِنْ خَيْبرَ كُلَّ امْرَأَة مِنْهُن ثَمَانِينَ وَسْقًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ، وَعِشْرِينَ وَسْقًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ خَيَّرَهُنَّ

أَنْ يَضْمَنَ لَهُنَّ مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ أَعْطَاهُنَّ، فَاخْتَارَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَحَفْصَةُ أَنْ يَقْطَعَ لَهُمَا مِنَ الأَرْضِ وَالْمَاءِ، فَصَارَ مِيرَاثًا لِمَنْ وَرِثَهُنَّ".
