If one among you lets out land to his brother, that is better for him than if he receives such and such (the definite thing). Ibn 'Abbis (Allah be pleased with them) said: It is Haql, and in the parlance of the Ansr it is Muhaqala.  

مسلم:١٥٥٠d – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ قَالَ عَبْدٌ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لأَنْ يَمْنَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ أَرْضَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ عَلَيْهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا لِشَىْءٍ مَعْلُومٍ قَالَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ هُوَ الْحَقْلُ وَهُوَ بِلِسَانِ الأَنْصَارِ الْمُحَاقَلَةُ

When I mentioned it (i.e. the narration of Rafiʿ 'bin Khadij: no. 532) to Tawus, he said, "It is permissible to rent the land for cultivation, for Ibn ʿAbbas said, 'The Prophet ﷺ did not forbid that, but said: One had better give the land to one's brother gratis rather than charge a certain amount for it.' "  

البخاري:٢٣٤٢ – حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو قَالَ ذَكَرْتُهُ لِطَاوُسٍ فَقَالَ يُزْرِعُ قَالَ

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهُ وَلَكِنْ قَالَ أَنْ يَمْنَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ شَيْئًا مَعْلُومًا

“If one of you were to lend his brother his land, it would be better for him than taking such and such rent for it.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لأَنْ يَمْنَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ أَرْضَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ عَلَيْهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا لِشَىْءٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ هُوَ الْحَقْلُ وَهُوَ بِلِسَانِ الأَنْصَارِ الْمُحَاقَلَةُ

“For one of you to give (land) to his brother is better for him than if he were to take a set amount in rent for it.”  

ابن ماجة:٢٤٦٤ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّمَا

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لأَنْ يَمْنَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ الأَرْضَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ لَهَا خَرَاجًا مَعْلُومًا

ahmad:2087 – Wakīʿ > Sufyān > ʿAmr b. Dīnār Qālasamiʿt Ibn ʿUmar

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade it. Amr mentioned it to Tawus, who said, "Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It is better for one of you to give his brother land as a gift than to take a known rent for it."  

أحمد:٢٠٨٧ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَسَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ كُنَّا نُخَابِرُ وَلا نَرَى بِذَلِكَ بَأْسًا حَتَّى زَعَمَ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهُ قَالَ عَمْرٌو ذَكَرْتُهُ لِطَاوُسٍ فَقَالَ طَاوُسٌ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْنَحُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ الْأَرْضَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ لَهَا خَرَاجًا مَعْلُومًا  

tabarani:10880 – Aḥmad b. Dāwud al-Makkī > Muḥammad b. Kathīr > Sufyān > ʿAmr b. Dīnār > Ṭāwus > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For one of you to give his brother his land as a gift is better for him than taking a specified reward."  

الطبراني:١٠٨٨٠ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لِأَنْ يَمْنَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ أَرْضَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ أَجْرًا مَعْلُومًا»
