I and Masruq went to 'A'isha and said to her: Mother of the Believers, there are two persons among the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ one among whom hastens in breaking the fast and in observing prayer, and the other delays breaking the fast and delays observing prayer. She said: Who among the two hastens in breaking fast and observing prayers? We said, It is 'Abdullah. i. e. son of Mas'ud. whereupon she said: This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did. Abu Kuraib added: The second one was Abu Musa.  

مسلم:١٠٩٩a – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَمَسْرُوقٌ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَجُلاَنِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ أَحَدُهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلاَةَ، وَالآخَرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الإِفْطَارَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ الصَّلاَةَ۔ قَالَتْ: أَيُّهُمَا الَّذِي يُعَجِّلُ الإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلاَةَ؟ قَالَ قُلْنَا: عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ۔ قَالَتْ: كَذَلِكَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

He said: It is 'Abdullah. Upon this she said: This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do.  

مسلم:١٠٩٩b – وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ

"Masruq and I came to 'Aishah, and Masruq said to her: 'There are two men from among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah both of whom are good; one of them delays the prayer and Ifar, and the other hastens the prayer and Iftar.' 'Aishah said: 'Which of them is the one who hastens the prayer and Iftar?' Masruq said: 'That is what the Messenger of Allah used to do."'

I and Masruq entered upon 'Aishah and we said: Mother of believers, there are two persons from the Companions of the Muhammad ﷺ. One of them hastens to break the fast and hastens to pray while the other delays to break the fast and delays praying. She asked: Which of them hastens to break the fast and hasten to pray ? We replied: 'Abd Allah (b. Mas'ud). She said: Thus did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do.  

أبو داود:٢٣٥٤ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ

"Masruq and I entered upon Aishah and we said: 'O Mother of the Believers! There are two men from the Companions of Muhammad, one of them hastens to break the fasts and he hastens to perform Salat. The other delays breaking the fast and he delays the Salat.' She said: 'Which of them hastens to break the fast and hastens to perform the Salat?' We said that it was Abdullah bin Mas'ud. She said: 'This is how the Messenger of Allah did it.' And the other was Abu Musa."

"Masruq and I came to 'Aishah and we said to her: 'O mother of the Believers, two men from among the Companions of Muhammad; one of them hastens the Iftar and hastens the prayer, and the other delays Iftar and delays the prayer; She said: 'Which one of them hastens Iftar and has hastens the prayer?' we said : 'Abdullah bin Masud.' She said: 'That is what the Messenger of Allah used to do."" And the other was Abu Musa. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2161)  

الكبرى للنسائي:٢٤٨٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَمَسْرُوقٌ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا لَهَا يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ أَحَدُهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ وَالْآخَرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَتْ أَيُّهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قُلْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَتْ هَكَذَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْآخَرُ أَبُو مُوسَى

[Machine] I and Masrooq entered upon Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and we said to her, "O Mother of the believers, there are two men among the companions of Muhammad ﷺ . One of them hastens for the prayer and hastens for iftar (breaking the fast), while the other delays the prayer and delays iftar." She said, "Which of them hastens for the prayer and hastens for iftar?" We replied, "Abdullah." She said, "This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do, and the other one is Abu Musa."  

البيهقي:٨١٢١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا أَبُو مُوسَى هَارُونُ بْنُ مُوسَى الزَّاهِدُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَمَسْرُوقٌ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا لَهَا يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ أَحَدُهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَالْآخَرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْإِفْطَارَ قَالَتْ أَيُّهُمَا الَّذِي يُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ؟ قُلْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ قَالَتْ هَكَذَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْآخَرُ أَبُو مُوسَى  

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ وَخَالَفَهُمَا شُعْبَةُ فَرَوَاهُ

[Machine] We entered upon Aisha and said, "O mother of the believers, there are two men among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ . One of them hastens the breaking of the fast and delays the pre-dawn meal, and the other delays the breaking of the fast and hastens the pre-dawn meal." She said, "Who is this person who hastens the breaking of the fast and delays the pre-dawn meal?" We said, "Ibn Mas'ud." She said, "This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do it, so do it accordingly."  

البيهقي:٨١٢٢ – كَمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فُورَكٍ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خَيْثَمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ الْوَادِعِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَمَسْرُوقٌ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أَوْ قَالَ

دَخَلْنَا عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ فِينَا رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَمَّا أَحَدُهُمَا فَيُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ السُّحُورَ وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَيُؤَخِرُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ السُّحُورَ فَقَالَتْ مَنْ هَذَا الَّذِي يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ السُّحُورَ؟ قُلْنَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَتْ كَذَلِكَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَهَكَذَا
