1.78 About (The Lote-Tree of the Utmost Boundary)

Sidrat al-Muntaha receives what ascends from earth and emanates what descends to it

muslim:173[Chain 1] Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Abū Usāmah > Mālik b. Mighwal [Chain 2] Ibn Numayr And Zuhayr b. Ḥarb > ʿAbdullāh b. Numayr > Ibn Numayr from my father > Mālik b. Mighwal > al-Zubayr b. ʿAdī > Ṭalḥah > Murrah > ʿAbdullāh

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey, he was brought to the Sidrat al-Muntaha (Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary), which is in the sixth heaven: to it reaches what ascends from the earth, and from it it is received; and to it reaches what descends from above it, and from it it is received.

He said: “When there covered the Sidrah that which covered it.” (Najm 53:16) He said ˹they are˺ moths of gold. He said: Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given three things: (1) he was given the five daily prayers; (2) he was given the concluding verses of Sūrat al-Baqarah; and (3) forgiveness was granted to those of his community who do not do shirk with Allah for ˹their˺ grave, ruinous sins.

The Prophet ﷺ saw Jibril with six hundred wings

muslim:174aAbū al-Rabīʿ al-Zahrānī > ʿAbbād b. al-ʿAwwām > al-Shaybānī > Zirr b. Ḥubaysh > Ibn Masʿūd

I asked Zirr b. Hubaysh about the saying of Allah ﷻ, “And he was at a distance of two bow-lengths or nearer.” He said: Ibn Mas‘ud informed me that the Prophet ﷺ saw Jibril; he had six hundred wings.

muslim:174bAbū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth > al-Shaybānī > Zir > ʿAbdullāh > Mā Kadhab al-Fuʾād Mā Raʾá

" The heart belied not what he saw" (al Qur'an, Iiii. 11) imply that he saw Gabriel (peace be upon him) and he had six hundred wings.

muslim:174cʿUbaydullāh b. Muʿādh al-ʿAnbarī from my father > Shuʿbah > Sulaymān al-Shaybānī > Zir b. Ḥubaysh > ʿAbdullāh > Laqad Raʾá from Āyāt Rabbih al-Kubrá

" Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of Allah" (al-Qur'an, liii. 18) imply that he saw Gabriel in his (original) form and he had six hundred wings.
