[Machine] A man used to write for the Prophet ﷺ . He had read Al-Baqarah and Al 'Imran until he had become distinguished among us, and the Prophet ﷺ would dictate to him, "Forgiving and Merciful." So he would write, "Pardoning and Merciful." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Write, for by the One in whose hand is my soul, whatever he (Gabriel) dictates to you." Then he dictated to him, "Knowledgeable and Wise." So he wrote, "All-Hearing and All-Seeing." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Write, whichever of the two you wish." He (the scribe) narrated that he reverted from Islam and joined the pagans. He said, "I know more about Muhammad than you all. If I wanted, I would write whatever I pleased." So he died in disbelief, and it reached the Prophet ﷺ . He said, "Truly, the earth will not accept him." Then Abu Talhah said, "So I went to the land where he died, and I found him rejected." I said, "What happened to him?" They said, "We buried him, but the earth did not accept him."

[Machine] A man used to write for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He had memorized Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Al Imran, and when he recited them, he would become very pale, meaning he would become overwhelmed. So the Prophet ﷺ would dictate to him, saying "Write it as 'Ghafur' (the Forgiving) and 'Raheem' (the Merciful)," and he would write it as 'Aleem' (the All-Knowing) and 'Hakeem' (the Wise). The Prophet ﷺ would then say to him, "Write whatever you wish." And he would dictate to him, saying "Write it as 'Samee' (All-Hearing) and 'Baseer' (All-Seeing)?" And he would reply, "Write whatever you wish." So that man turned away from Islam and joined the polytheists, and he said, "I know better than all of you about Muhammad. If I wanted, I could write whatever I wished." That man died and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, the earth did not accept him." Anas narrated that Abu Talha went to the place where that man had died and found his grave rejected. Abu Talha asked, "What happened to this man?" They replied, "We buried him multiple times, but the earth did not accept him."
