ذِكْرُ وَصِيَّةِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ بِالْعَفْوِ عَنْ مُسِيءِ الْأَنْصَارِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ إِلَى مُحْسِنِهِمْ

ibnhibban:7287 – Aḥmad b. ʿAlī b. al-Muthanná > Muṣʿab b. ʿAbdullāh b. Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī from my father > Qudāmah b. Ibrāhīm

[Machine] "O Hajjaj, are you not preserving the advice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for us?" He asked, "What advice did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ give to you?" He replied, "He advised us to treat the virtuous Ansar well and to forgive those who wrong them."  

ابن حبّان:٧٢٨٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى* حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ الْحَجَّاجَ يَضْرِبُ عَبَّاسَ بْنَ سَهْلٍ فِي إِمْرَةِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَأَتَاهُ سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ لَهُ ضَفِيرَتَانِ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبَانِ إِزَارٌ وَرِدَاءٌ فَوَقَفَ بَيْنَ السِّمَاطَيْنِ فَقَالَ

«يَا حَجَّاجُ أَلَا تَحْفَظُ فِينَا وَصِيَّةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ» قَالَ وَمَا أَوْصَى بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِيكُمْ؟ قَالَ «أَوْصَى أَنْ يُحْسَنَ إِلَى مُحْسِنِ الْأَنْصَارِ وَيُعْفَى عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ»

[Machine] I attended Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf hitting Abbas ibn Sahl ibn Saad As-Sa'idi in the matter of Ibn Zubayr. So his father, Sahl, came out wearing a robe and cloak and shouted at Al-Hajjaj, asking him if he does not remember the will of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding us. Al-Hajjaj replied, "And what did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ advise regarding you all?" He said, "He advised to treat the good Ansar kindly and forgive those who harm them." So he sent him.  

الطبراني:٦٠٢٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ثنا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ الْجُمَحِيِّ قَالَ

حَضَرْتُ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ يَضْرِبُ عَبَّاسَ بْنَ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ فِي أَمْرِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَطَلَعَ أَبُوهُ سَهْلٌ فِي إِزَارٍ وَرِدَاءٍ لَهُ فَصَاحَ بِالْحَجَّاجِ أَلَا تَحْفَظُ فِينَا وَصِيَّةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ وَمَا أَوْصَى بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِيكُمْ؟ قَالَ «أَوْصَى أَنْ يُحْسَنَ إِلَى مُحْسِنِ الْأَنْصَارِ وَيُعْفَى عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ» فَأَرْسَلَهُ
