ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنِ افْتِخَارِ الْمَرْءِ بِأَهْلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، وَإِنْ كَانُوا لَهُ أَقْرَبَ الْقَرَابَةِ

[Machine] The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Do not boast about your fathers during the pre-Islamic period. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, a whip on the face of one of you is better than his father who died in the pre-Islamic period."  

ابن حبّان:٥٧٧٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَمَّالُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَفْتَخِرُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَمَّا يُدَهْدِهُ الْجُعَلُ بِمَنْخِرَيْهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ آبَائِكُمُ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ»

[Machine] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not boast about your fathers who died during the Age of Ignorance. By He in Whose Hand my soul is, not even a morsel that someone consumes while being grateful is better than your fathers who died during the Age of Ignorance."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Do not boast about your fathers who lived in ignorance, for I swear by the One in whose hand my soul is, even the dung beetle is better in the sight of Allah than them."  

الطبراني:١١٨٦١ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
