ذِكْرُ جَوَازِ بَيْعِ الْمُدَبَّرِ إِذَا كَانَ الْمُدَبَّرُ عَدِيمًا لَا مَالَ لَهُ غَيْرَ مُدَبَّرِهِ

ibnhibban:4933ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. Salm Bibayt al-Maqdis > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Ibrāhīm > Bishr b. Bakr > al-Awzāʿī > ʿAṭāʾ b. Abū Rabāḥ > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ freed a slave that he owned after the death of the Prophet ﷺ . He did not possess any other wealth except for the slave. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the slave and sold him saying, "You are more in need of its price, and Allah is the richest."  

ابن حبّان:٤٩٣٣أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَبَاعَهُ وَقَالَ «أَنْتَ أَحْوَجُ إِلَى ثَمَنِهِ وَاللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَغْنَى»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , was informed that a man from his companions had freed a slave on his behalf, even though he did not possess any other wealth. So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , sold the slave for eight hundred (currency) and handed the amount over to his owners.

بَلَغَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ فَبَاعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَبْدَ بِثَمَانِ مِائَةٍ وَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى مَوَالِيهِ  

ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ نَفَقَةَ الْمَرْءِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَعِيَالِهِ، عِنْدَ عَدَمِ الْيَسَارِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَدَقَةِ التَّطَوُّعِ

[Machine] A man from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ freed a slave of his after him, even though he had no other wealth. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to sell him and said, "You are most entitled to his price, and Allah is wealthy regarding him."
