ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ الْمَرْءَ إِذَا حَلَفَ لَهُ أَخُوهُ الْمُسْلِمُ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُصَدِّقَهُ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ، وَإِنْ عَلِمَ مِنْهُ ضِدَّهُ

ibnhibban:4336 – Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan b. Qutaybah > Ibn Abū al-Sarī > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Hammām b. Munabbih > Abū Hurayrah

"Eisa bin Maryam saw a man stealing and said: 'Did you steal?' He said: 'No, by the One besides Whom there is no other God.' 'Eisa said: 'I believe in Allah, and I do not believe what my eyes see.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2102)

ابن حبّان:٤٣٣٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «رَأَى عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَجُلًا سَرَقَ فَقَالَ عِيسَى أَسَرَقْتَ؟ قَالَ كَلَّا وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَقَالَ عِيسَى آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَكَذَّبْتُ عَيْنِي»

You committed theft. He said: Nay. By Him besides Whom there is no god (I have not committed theft). Thereupon Jesus said: I affirm my faith in Allah It is my ownself that deceived me.

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Isa bin Mariam, peace be upon him, saw a man stealing, and said to him: Are you stealing? He said: No, by Allah besides Whom there is no other God! 'Isa, peace be upon him, said: I believe in Allah and I disbelieve my eyes.'"

النسائي:٥٤٢٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

ahmad:8154 –

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Jesus saw a man stealing, so he said to him: 'O So-and-so, did you steal?' The man replied: 'No, by Allah, I did not steal.' Jesus said: 'I believed in Allah, but my sight betrayed me.'"

أحمد:٨٩٧٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَغَيْرِهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا
