ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ ابْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ

ibnhibban:2231 – ʿUmar b. Muḥammad al-Hamdānī > ʿAbdullāh b. Saʿd b. Ibrāhīm from my uncle from my father > Ibn Isḥāq > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Bakr > Abū al-Zinād > al-Aʿraj > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "O people, I have already started the prayer, so do not rush ahead of me in bowing and prostration, but I will precede you in them as you will catch up with what you missed."  

ابن حبّان:٢٢٣١ – أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي قَدْ بَدَّنْتُ أَوْ بَدَّنْتُ فَلَا تَسْبِقُونِي بِالرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَلَكِنِّي أَسْبِقُكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ تُدْرِكُونَ مَا فَاتَكُمْ»

It has not been confirmed from our scholars whether it is 'Bedontu' or 'Baddantu', and Abu 'Ubayd chose 'Baddantu' with an emphasis and placing the dal meaning I have increased in size. Whoever says 'Bedontu' with a raised dal, then he intended excessive flesh."
