God willing, you would reach by tomorrow the fountain of Tabuk and you should not come to that until it is dawn, and he who amongst you happens to go there should not touch its water until I come. We came to that and two persons (amongst) us reached that fountain ahead of us. It was a thin flow of water like the shoelace. Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them whether they had touched the water. They said: Yes. Allah's Apostle ﷺ scolded them, and he said to them what he had to say by the will of God. The people then took water of the fountain in their palms until it became somewhat significant and Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his hands and his face too in it, and then, took it again in that (fountain) and there gushed forth abundant water from that fountain, until all the people drank to their fill. He then said: Mu'adh, it is likely that if you live long that you see what is here filled with gardens. (Using translation from Muslim 706c)

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z-Zubayr al-Makki from Abu't-Tufayl Amir ibn Wathila that Muadh ibn Jabal told him that they went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of Tabuk, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ joined dhuhr with asr and maghrib with isha. Muadh said, "One day he delayed the prayer, and then came out and prayed dhuhr and asr together. Then he said, 'Tomorrow you will come, insha' llah, to the spring of Tabuk. But you will not get there until well into the morning. No one who arrives should touch any of its water until I come.' We came to it and two men had got to it before us and the spring was dripping with a little water. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them, 'Have you touched any of its water?' They said, 'Yes.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ reviled them and said what Allah wished him to say. Then they took water with their hands from the spring little by little until it had been collected in something. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his face and hands in it. Then he put it back into the spring and the spring flowed with an abundance of water and the people drew water from it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If you live long enough, Muadh, you will soon see this place filled with gardens.' "

[Machine] He informed him that they went with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , to Tabuk. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , would combine the Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers together. He delayed the prayer one day, then he went out and prayed Dhuhr and Asr together, then he entered and went out and prayed Maghrib and Isha together. Then he said, "You will come to, if Allah wills, the spring of Tabuk tomorrow, and you will come to it in the forenoon. Whoever comes to it should not touch any of its waters until I come." He said, "So we came and two men had already preceded us and the spring was like a pitcher contracting with something from the water. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , asked them, "Did you touch anything from its water?" They replied, "Yes." So he cursed them and said to them what Allah willed him to say. Then they cupped their hands a little and water gathered in them. Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , washed his face and hands in it, then poured it back into the spring. The spring gushed forth with abundant water and the people drank from it. Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Soon, O Mu'adh, if you live long, you will see what is here filled with gardens." This is what Ad-Dabari said, although he was mistaken and it is actually filled with Paradise.
