"Messenger of Allah said to Bilal: "O Bilal! When you call the Adhan then do so deliberately and slowly, and when you call the Iqamah then be quick. Allow enough time between your Adhan and Iqamah for the person eating to finish what he is eating, the person drinking to finish what he is drinking, and the one who needs time to relive himself, and do not stand until you see me."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِبِلاَلٍ يَا بِلاَلُ إِذَا أَذَّنْتَ فَتَرَسَّلْ فِي أَذَانِكَ وَإِذَا أَقَمْتَ فَاحْدُرْ وَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِكَ وَإِقَامَتِكَ قَدْرَ مَا يَفْرُغُ الآكِلُ مِنْ أَكْلِهِ وَالشَّارِبُ مِنْ شُرْبِهِ وَالْمُعْتَصِرُ إِذَا دَخَلَ لِقَضَاءِ حَاجَتِهِ وَلاَ تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal, 'O Bilal, make the time between your Adhan (call to prayer) and Iqama (the call to start the prayer) as much as a person needs to empty their stomach from food, their throat from drink, and their bladder from urine. And do not start the prayer until you see me in its chain of transmission (Isnad) with a glance.'"  

رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِبِلَالٍ يَا بِلَالُ اجْعَلْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِكَ وَإِقَامَتِكَ بِقَدْرِ مَا يَفْرُغُ الْآكِلُ مِنْ أَكْلِهِ وَالشَّارِبُ مِنْ شُرْبِهِ وَالْمُعْتَصِرُ مِنْ حَاجَتِهِ وَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي فِي إِسْنَادِهِ نَظَرٌ  

"يَا بِلَالُ! إِذَا أَذَّنْتَ فَتَرَسَّلْ فِى أَذَانِكَ، وَإِذَا أَقَمْتَ فَأحْدِرْ، وَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِكَ وَبَيْنَ إِقَامَتِكَ قَدْرَ مَا يَفْرُغُ الآكِلُ مِنْ أَكْلِهِ، وَالشَّارِبُ مِنْ شَرَابِهِ، وَالْمُعْتَصِرُ إِذَا دَخَلَ لِقَضَاءِ حَاجَتِهِ وَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِى".
