there was a man whose mental faculties were lacking, and he used to buy and sell. His family came to the Prophet and said: "O Prophet of Allah stop him." So the Prophet of Allah called him, and told him not to do that. He said: "O Prophet of Allah, I cannot bear to be away from business," He said "If you engaged in a deal then say: 'There is no intention to deceive. "' (Sahih )

أَنَّ رَجُلاً كَانَ فِي عُقْدَتِهِ ضَعْفٌ كَانَ يُبَايِعُ وَأَنَّ أَهْلَهُ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ احْجُرْ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَاهُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَنَهَاهُ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لاَ أَصْبِرُ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ قَالَ إِذَا بِعْتَ فَقُلْ لاَ خِلاَبَةَ

During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a man used to buy (goods), and he was weak in his intellect. His people came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and said: Prophet of Allah, stop so-and-so (to make a bargain) for he buys (goods), but he is weak in his intellect. So the Prophet ﷺ called on him and forbade him to make a bargain. He said: Prophet of Allah, I cannot keep away myself from business transactions. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If you cannot give up making a bargain , then say: Take , and give, and there is no attempt to deceive.

أَنَّ رَجُلاً عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَبْتَاعُ وَفِي عُقْدَتِهِ ضَعْفٌ فَأَتَى أَهْلُهُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ احْجُرْ عَلَى فُلاَنٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَبْتَاعُ وَفِي عُقْدَتِهِ ضَعْفٌ فَدَعَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَنَهَاهُ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لاَ أَصْبِرُ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنْ كُنْتَ غَيْرَ تَارِكٍ الْبَيْعَ فَقُلْ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَلاَ خِلاَبَةَ قَالَ أَبُو ثَوْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ

That there was a man who was not very sensible and he would make purchases. So his family came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Stop him (from making purchases)." So Allah's Prophet ﷺ called him to prohibit him, and he said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have no patience for business." So he said: "When you are buying, say: 'Hand to hand, and no cheating.'"

أَنَّ رَجُلاً كَانَ فِي عُقْدَتِهِ ضَعْفٌ وَكَانَ يُبَايِعُ وَأَنَّ أَهْلَهُ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ احْجُرْ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَاهُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَنَهَاهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لاَ أَصْبِرُ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ فَقَالَ إِذَا بَايَعْتَ فَقُلْ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ وَلاَ خِلاَبَةَ

[Machine] There was a man during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who used to engage in buying and selling. He had a weak knot in his string. His family went to the Prophet and said, "O Prophet of Allah, supplicate for so-and-so as he is engaged in buying and selling and has a weak knot in his string." The Prophet called him and forbade him from engaging in buying and selling. The man said, "O Prophet of Allah, I cannot refrain from buying and selling." The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you are not abstinent from buying and selling, then say 'Haa and Haa.' There is no concern with the wording of the hadith, as clarified by the hadith of Ar-Rauzabari. Ibn Bashran has also narrated that there was a man during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who used to engage in selling, while others engaged in the same. It is as if the Prophet ﷺ did not see him in the place of stoning. The evidence for refraining from stoning is an indication of the permissibility of stoning.

أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَبْتَاعُ وَكَانَ فِي عُقْدَتِهِ ضَعْفٌ فَأَتَى أَهْلُهُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ احْجُرْ عَلَى فُلَانٍ؛ فَإِنَّهُ يَبْتَاعُ وَفِي عُقْدَتِهِ ضَعْفٌ فَدَعَاهُ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَهَاهُ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنِّي لَا أَصْبِرُ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ فَقَالَ ﷺ إِنْ كُنْتَ غَيْرَ تَارِكٍ الْبَيْعَ فَقُلْ هَا وَهَا وَلَا خِلَابَةَ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ الرُّوذْبَارِيِّ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ بِشْرَانَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُبَايِعُ وَالْبَاقِي سَوَاءٌ وَكَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حِينَ رَآهُ لَمْ يَرَهُ بِمَحَلِّ الْحَجْرِ عَلَيْهِ وَفِي تَرْكِ إِنْكَارِ الْحَجْرِ دَلِيلٌ عَلَى جَوَازِ الْحَجْرِ
