[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah sent me to my people to invite them to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, and to present to them the principles of Islam. So I went to them while they were watering their camels and milking them, and drinking the milk. When they saw me, they greeted me and said, 'Welcome, O Suddi bin Ajlan!' Then they said, 'We have heard that you have become a follower of this man (referring to the Prophet Muhammad). I replied, 'No, but I have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and the Messenger of Allah has sent me to you to present Islam and its principles.' While we were in this discussion, they brought a vessel filled with blood, and they gathered around it to eat it. They said, 'Come, O Suddi!' I said, 'Woe to you! I have come to you from the one who forbids you from consuming this, as Allah has revealed to him.' They asked, 'What is that?' I said, 'Allah has revealed this verse to him: 'Forbidden to you are dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine...' (Quran 5:3) until 'except what you slaughter.' (Quran 5:3) I then invited them to Islam, but they refused. I said to them, 'Woe to you! Can you bring me some water to drink? I am extremely thirsty.' They replied, 'No, we will let you die of thirst.' So, I wrapped my head in my turban and fell asleep under the intense heat. Then, someone came to me in a dream with a glass cup that no one has ever seen anything better than, and it contained a drink that no one has ever tasted anything more delicious than. I was able to drink from it, and after I finished drinking, I woke up. By Allah, I did not feel thirsty or experience thirst after that sip.' I heard them saying, 'A man from our people has come to you, but you did not honor him with a taste. So, bring me a taste of what they would have given me.' I said, 'I have no need for it. Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, has fed and provided me. I showed them my stomach, and then they all embraced Islam one after another.' This is the narration of Suddi bin Hirmuz, who Ibn Ma'in deemed as weak."

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَى قَوْمِي أَدْعُوَهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى وَأَعْرِضُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَرَائِعَ الْإِسْلَامِ فَأَتَيْتُهُمْ وَقَدْ سَقُوا إِبِلَهُمْ وَأَحْلَبُوهَا وَشَرِبُوا فَلَمَّا رَأَوْنِي قَالُوا مَرْحَبًا بِالصُّدَيِّ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ثُمَّ قَالُوا بَلَغَنَا أَنَّكَ صَبَوْتَ إِلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ قُلْتُ «لَا وَلَكِنْ آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَبِرَسُولِهِ وَبَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَيْكُمْ أَعْرِضُ عَلَيْكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ وَشَرَائِعَهُ فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ جَاءُوا بِقَصْعَةٍ دَمٍ فَوَضَعُوهَا وَاجْتَمَعُوا عَلَيْهَا يَأْكُلُوهَا» فَقَالُوا هَلُمَّ يَا صُدَيُّ فَقُلْتُ «وَيْحَكُمْ إِنَّمَا أَتَيْتُكُمْ مِنْ عِنْدِ مَنْ يُحَرِّمُ هَذَا عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ» قَالُوا وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ قُلْتُ نَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ الْخِنْزِيرِ} [المائدة 3] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ} [المائدة 3] فَجَعَلْتُ أَدْعُوَهُمْ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَيَأْبُونَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ وَيْحَكُمُ ايْتُونِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَإِنِّي شَدِيدُ الْعَطَشِ قَالُوا لَا وَلَكِنْ نَدَعُكَ تَمُوتُ عَطَشًا قَالَ «فَاعْتَمَمْتُ وَضَرَبْتُ رَأْسِي فِي الْعِمَامَةِ وَنِمْتُ فِي الرَّمْضَاءِ فِي حَرٍّ شَدِيدٍ فَأَتَانِي آتٍ فِي مَنَامِي بِقَدَحٍ زُجَاجٍ لَمْ يَرَ النَّاسُ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُ وَفِيهِ شَرَابٌ لَمْ يَرَ النَّاسُ أَلَذَّ مِنْهُ فَأَمْكَنَنِي مِنْهَا فَشَرِبْتُهَا فَحَيْثُ فَرَغْتُ مِنْ شَرَابِي اسْتَيْقَظْتُ وَلَا وَاللَّهِ مَا عَطِشْتُ وَلَا عَرَفْتُ عَطَشًا بَعْدَ تِلْكَ الشَّرْبَةِ» فَسَمِعْتُهُمْ يَقُولُونَ أَتَاكُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ سُرَاةِ قَوْمِكُمْ فَلَمْ تَمْجَعُوهُ بِمَذْقَةٍ فَأْتُونِي بِمَذِيقَتِهِمْ فَقُلْتُ «لَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَطْعَمَنِي وَسَقَانِي فَأَرَيْتُهُمْ بَطْنِي فَأَسْلَمُوا عَنْ آخِرِهِمْ» صدقة بن هرمز ضعفه ابن معين

I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a journey. We travelled the whole of the night, and when it was about to dawn, we got down for rest, and were overpowered (by sleep) till the sun shone. Abu Bakr was the first to awake amongst us. and we did not awake the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from his sleep allowing him to wake up (of his own accord). It was 'Umar who then woke up. He stood by the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and recited takbir in a loud voice till the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up. When he lifted his head, he saw that the sun had arisen; he then said: Proceed on. He travelled along with us till the sun shone brightly. He came down (from his camel) and led us in the morning prayer. A person, however, remained away from the people and did not say, prayer along with us. After having completed the prayer, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: O, so and so, what prevented you from observing prayer with us? He said: Apostle of Allah! I was not in a state of purity. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him arid lie performed Tayammum with dust and said prayer. He then urged me to go ahead immediately along with other riders to find out water, for we felt very thirsty. We were traveling when we came across a woman who was sitting (on a camel) with her feet hanging over two leathern water bags. We said to her: How far is water available? She, said: Far, very far, very far. You cannot get water. We (again) said: How much distance is there between (the residence of) your family and water? She said: It is a day and night journey. We said to her: You go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: Who is the Messenger of Allah? We somehow or the other managed to bring her to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he asked about her, and she informed him as she had informed us that she was a widow having orphan children. He ordered that her camel should be made to kneal down and he gargled in the opening (of her leathern water-bag). The camel was then raised up and we forty thirsty men drank water till we were completely satiated, and we filled up all leathern water-bags and water-skins that we had with us and we washed our companions, but we did not make any camel drink, and (the leathern water-bags) were about to burst (on account of excess of water). He then said: Bring whatever you have with you. So we collected the bits (of estable things) and dates and packed them up in a bundle, and said to her: Take it away. This is meant for your children, and know that we have not its any way done any loss to your water. W hen she came to her family she said: I have met the greatest magician amongst human beings, or he is an apostle, as he claims to be, and she then narrated what had happened and Allah guided aright those people through that woman. She affirmed her faith in Islam and so did the people embrace Islam.

كُنْتُ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ فَأَدْلَجْنَا لَيْلَتَنَا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي وَجْهِ الصُّبْحِ عَرَّسْنَا فَغَلَبَتْنَا أَعْيُنُنَا حَتَّى بَزَغَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَالَ فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنَّا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَكُنَّا لاَ نُوقِظُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ مَنَامِهِ إِذَا نَامَ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ عُمَرُ فَقَامَ عِنْدَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَجَعَلَ يُكَبِّرُ وَيَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ حَتَّى اسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ وَرَأَى الشَّمْسَ قَدْ بَزَغَتْ قَالَ ارْتَحِلُوا فَسَارَ بِنَا حَتَّى إِذَا ابْيَضَّتِ الشَّمْسُ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا الْغَدَاةَ فَاعْتَزَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ لَمْ يُصَلِّ مَعَنَا فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا فُلاَنُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ مَعَنَا قَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَصَابَتْنِي جَنَابَةٌ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَتَيَمَّمَ بِالصَّعِيدِ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ عَجَّلَنِي فِي رَكْبٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ نَطْلُبُ الْمَاءَ وَقَدْ عَطِشْنَا عَطَشًا شَدِيدًا فَبَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نَسِيرُ إِذَا نَحْنُ بِامْرَأَةٍ سَادِلَةٍ رِجْلَيْهَا بَيْنَ مَزَادَتَيْنِ فَقُلْنَا لَهَا أَيْنَ الْمَاءُ قَالَتْ أَيْهَاهْ أَيْهَاهْ لاَ مَاءَ لَكُمْ قُلْنَا فَكَمْ بَيْنَ أَهْلِكِ وَبَيْنَ الْمَاءِ قَالَتْ مَسِيرَةُ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ قُلْنَا انْطَلِقِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ وَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَلَمْ نُمَلِّكْهَا مِنْ أَمْرِهَا شَيْئًا حَتَّى انْطَلَقْنَا بِهَا فَاسْتَقْبَلْنَا بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهَا فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ مِثْلَ الَّذِي أَخْبَرَتْنَا وَأَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا مُوتِمَةٌ لَهَا صِبْيَانٌ أَيْتَامٌ فَأَمَرَ بِرَاوِيَتِهَا فَأُنِيخَتْ فَمَجَّ فِي الْعَزْلاَوَيْنِ الْعُلْيَاوَيْنِ ثُمَّ بَعَثَ بِرَاوِيَتِهَا فَشَرِبْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَرْبَعُونَ رَجُلاً عِطَاشٌ حَتَّى رَوِينَا وَمَلأْنَا كُلَّ قِرْبَةٍ مَعَنَا وَإِدَاوَةٍ وَغَسَّلْنَا صَاحِبَنَا غَيْرَ أَنَّا لَمْ نَسْقِ بَعِيرًا وَهِيَ تَكَادُ تَنْضَرِجُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ يَعْنِي الْمَزَادَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَاتُوا مَا كَانَ عِنْدَكُمْ فَجَمَعْنَا لَهَا مِنْ كِسَرٍ وَتَمْرٍ وَصَرَّ لَهَا صُرَّةً فَقَالَ لَهَا اذْهَبِي فَأَطْعِمِي هَذَا عِيَالَكِ وَاعْلَمِي أَنَّا لَمْ نَرْزَأْ مِنْ مَائِكِ فَلَمَّا أَتَتْ أَهْلَهَا قَالَتْ لَقَدْ لَقِيتُ أَسْحَرَ الْبَشَرِ أَوْ إِنَّهُ لَنَبِيٌّ كَمَا زَعَمَ كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ ذَيْتَ وَذَيْتَ فَهَدَى اللَّهُ ذَاكَ الصِّرْمَ بِتِلْكَ الْمَرْأَةِ فَأَسْلَمَتْ وَأَسْلَمُوا

So I came to them while they were watering their camels and milking their she-camels. When they saw me, they said, "Welcome, O Suddi bin Ajlan!" I said, "No, I have only come to you on behalf of the one who forbids you from what Allah has revealed to him." They asked, "And what did he say?" I said, "He revealed this verse: 'Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine.' He continued until [the verse:] 'and that you seek to draw lots, by the arrows." I called them to Islam, but they refused. So I said to them, "Bring me some water, for I am extremely thirsty." They said, "No, we will let you die of thirst." I said, "So I tightened my turban and hit my head on it, and slept in the intense heat of the midday sun. Then someone came to me in a dream with a glass cup that the people had not seen anything better than, and it contained a drink that the people had not tasted anything more delicious than. He offered it to me, so I drank from it. When I finished drinking, I woke up, and I swear by Allah, I did not feel thirsty and I did not experience thirst after drinking from that cup."  

الطبراني:٨٠٧٤حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ ثنا بَشِيرُ بْنُ سُرَيْجٍ ثنا أَبُو غَالِبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

"عَنْ أبِي أُمَامَة قَالَ: بَعَثَنِى رَسُولُ الله ﷺ إِلى قَوْمٍ أَدْعُوهُمْ إِلى الله وإِلى رَسُولِهِ وَأعْرِضُ عَلَيْهم شَرَائِعَ الإسْلَام، فَأتْيتُهم وَقَد سَقُوا إبِلَهم واحْتَلَبُوهَا وشربُوا فَلَمَّا رَأَوْنِى قَالُوا: مَرحَبًا بِصَدِى بنِ عَجْلَانَ، قَالَوا: بَلَغَنَا أَنَّكَ صَبَوتَ إِلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ، قُلتُ: لَا، ولكِنِّي آمَنْتُ بِالله وَرسُولِهِ، وَبَعَثَنِى رسُولُ الله ﷺ إِليْكُم أَعْرِضُ الإِسْلَامَ وَشَرَائِعَهُ، فبينا نحن كذلك إذا جاءوا بقصعة من دم فوضعوها واجتمعوا عليها يأكلونها، قالوا: هلم يا صدى، قلت: ويحكم إنما أتيتكم من عند من يحرم هذا عليكم بما أنزله الله عليه، قالوا: وما ذلك، فتكون عليهم هذه الآية: حرمت عليكم الميتة والدم ولحم الخنزير إلى قوله ذلكم فسق، فجعلت أدعوهم إلى الإسلام ويأبون على، فقلت لهم: ويحكم اسقونى شربة من ماء فإنى شديد العطش وعلى عباءة ، قالوا: لا، ولكن ندعك حتى تموت عطشًا فَاغْتَظتُ وضربت برأسى في العباءة ونمت في الرمضاء في حر

شديد، فأتى آتٍ في منامى بقدح زجاج لم ير الناس أحسن منه، وفيه شراب لم ير الناس شرابا ألذ منه فأمكننى منها فشربتها، فحين فرغت من شرابى استيقظت فلا والله ما عطشت ولا اعزيت (عَطِشْتُ) بعد تلك الشربة".
