[Machine] "And he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioning Khalid ibn Al-Walid and he said, 'Yes, Abdullah is a brother of the family and a sword from the swords of Allah.' Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary."

الحاكم:٥٢٩٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصَّفَّارُ فِي جُزْءٍ انْتَقَاهُ الْإِمَامُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرِ بْنِ بَرِّيٍّ وَثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرِ بْنِ بَرِّيٍّ ثَنَا أَبِي ثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثَنَا وَحْشِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبِ بْنِ وَحْشِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ وَجَّهَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فِي قِتَالِ أَهْلِ الرِّدَّةِ فَكُلِّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَرُدَّهُ

وَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَذَكَرَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَأَخُو الْعَشِيرَةِ وَسَيْفٌ مِنْ سُيُوفِ اللَّهِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “What a good slave of Allah and member of the tribe Khalid bin al-Waleed is! [He is] one of the swords of Allah that Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, has unsheathed against disbelievers and hypocrites.ʿ

أحمد:٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي وَحْشِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبِ بْنِ وَحْشِيِّ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَحْشِيِّ بْنِ حَرْبٍأَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ عَقَدَ لِخَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَلَى قِتَالِ أَهْلِ الرِّدَّةِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ نِعْمَ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَأَخُو الْعَشِيرَةِ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَسَيْفٌ مِنْ سُيُوفِ اللهِ سَلَّهُ اللهُ ﷻ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ

tabarani:3798 – al-Ḥusayn b. Isḥāq al-Tustarī > ʿAlī b. Baḥr > al-Walīd b. Muslim > And Ḥshī b. Ḥarb b. Waḥshī from his father from his grandfather from my father
