[Machine] I heard Jabir bin Abdullah say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ witnessed the day of Uhud when the people retreated from the fight. A man said, 'I saw him by that tree, saying, "I am the lion of Allah and the lion of His Messenger. O Allah, I distance myself from what these people have done for the sake of Abu Sufyan and his companions, and I apologize to you for their defeat."' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then went towards him. When he saw his face, he wept, and when he saw what had been done to him, he sobbed. Then he said, 'Shouldn't he be shrouded?' A man from the Ansar stood up and threw a garment, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Hamza is the chief of martyrs in the sight of Allah on the Day of Judgment.'"

[Machine] I heard Jabir bin Abdullah say that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, lost Hamza when the people turned away from the battle. A man said, "I saw him by those trees saying, 'I am the lion of Allah and the lion of His Messenger. O Allah, I disassociate myself from what these people have done, Abu Sufyan and his companions. I apologize to You for their defeat.' So, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, leaned towards him, and when he saw his side, he cried. And when he saw what he was wrapped in, he sobbed. Then he said, 'Isn't there a funeral shroud?' A man from the Ansar stood up and threw a garment on him, then another man stood up and threw a garment on him. Jabir said, 'O Messenger of Allah, this garment is for your father, and this one is for my uncle Hamza.' Then Hamza was brought and the Prophet, peace be upon him, prayed over him. Then the martyrs were brought and placed next to Hamza, and he prayed for them. Then they were lifted and Hamza was left behind until he prayed for all the martyrs. Jabir said, 'I returned while feeling heavy-hearted, for my father had left debts and family behind. When it was night time, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, sent for me and said, 'O Jabir, indeed Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, has revived your father and made him speak.' I said, 'And he spoke?' He said, 'He asked for something.' I said, 'What did he ask for?' He said, 'He asked for his soul to be returned and for his enemies to be resurrected so that he may fight for the sake of Allah and be killed again.' Jabir said, 'I believed that they would not return.' The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, 'Hamza is the leader of the martyrs on the Day of Resurrection, according to an authentic chain of narrators, and Abu Hammad is the one who omitted it.'"
