[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, saying when the messenger of Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab came to him with his book, and the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to both of them, "So you both say what he says?" They said, "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "By Allah, if it were not that messengers are not killed, I would strike your necks."  

الحاكم:٤٣٧٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فَحَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ حِينَ جَاءَهُ رَسُولَا مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ بِكِتَابِهِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَهُمَا «وَأَنْتُمَا تَقُولَانِ بِمِثْلِ مَا يَقُولُ؟» قَالَا نَعَمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا أَنَّ الرُّسُلَ لَا تُقْتَلُ لَضَرَبْتُ أَعْنَاقَكُمَا»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, when he read the Book of Musaylimah the Liar, he said to the two messengers, "What do you both say?" They said, "We say what he said." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By Allah, if it were not that messengers are not to be killed, I would have struck off both of your necks."  

أحمد:١٥٩٨٩ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ وَهُوَ أَبُو مَالِكٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ

سمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ حِينَ قَرَأَ كِتَابَ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ قَالَ لِلرَّسُولَيْنِ فَمَا تَقُولَانِ أَنْتُمَا؟ قَالَا نَقُولُ كَمَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَاللهِ لَوْلَا أَنَّ الرُّسُلَ لَا تُقْتَلُ لَضَرَبْتُ أَعْنَاقَكُمَا  

hakim:2632 – Abū Naṣr Aḥmad b. Sahl b. Ḥamdawayh al-Faqīh Bibukhārá

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say when they (messengers sent by Musaylimah) read the letter of Musaylimah: What do you believe yourselves? They said: We believe as he believes. He said: I swear by Allah that were it not that messengers are not killed, I would cut off your heads. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2761)
