Yunus bin Matta was a righteous servant, but he was of narrow character. When the burdens of prophethood were placed upon him and they were burdens that only a few could bear, he cracked under their weight, just as a single straw breaks under the burden. He expelled them from his body and fled from them, saying to his Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , "Therefore be patient, as the messengers endowed with determination were patient." "So be patient with the decree of your Lord and do not be like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed." [Quran 68:48] It means, do not throw in another burden as you have thrown it away. Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary.
