Muhammad bin Ja'far narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Amr bin Murrah who said: "I asked Abu Ubaidah bin Abdullah: 'Did you remember anything from Abdullah?' He said, 'No'"

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هَلْ تَذْكُرُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا قَالَ لاَ

Az-Zuhri brought a hadith, and I met him on some road, so I took hold of his rein and said, 'O Abu Bakr, repeat to me the hadith which you told us.' He said, 'Do you want me to repeat the hadith?' I said, 'Would you not have the hadith repeated?' He said, 'No.' I said, 'And do you not write it down?' He said, 'No.'

جَاءَ الزُّهْرِيُّ بِحَدِيثٍ فَلَقِيتُهُ فِي بَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ فَأَخَذْتُ بِلِجَامِهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ «أَعِدْ عَلَيَّ الْحَدِيثَ الَّذِي حَدَّثْتَنَا بِهِ» قَالَ وَتَسْتَعِيدُ الْحَدِيثَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ «وَمَا كُنْتَ تَسْتَعِيدُ الْحَدِيثَ؟» قَالَ لَا قُلْتُ «وَلَا تَكْتُبُ؟» قَالَ لَا

Muhammad bin Ja'far narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Amr bin Murrah who said: "I asked Abu Ubaidah bin Abdullah: 'Did you remember anything from Abdullah?' He said, 'No'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 624)

قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا تَرَكَ ابْنَ ابْنَتِهِ أَيَرِثُهُ؟ قَالَ «لَا»

قَالَ §كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ لُحُومَ الْخَيْلِ قُلْتُ الْبِغَالُ؟ قَالَ «لَا»

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ لَهُ مَالٌ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ مِثْلُهُ أَعَلَيْهِ زَكَاةٌ؟ فَقَالَ لَا

[AI] In His saying "So whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein" [Al-Baqarah 197], He said, "Oh people,"

فِي قَوْلِهِ {فَمَنْ فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ الْحَجَّ} [البقرة 197] قَالَ أَهَلَّ

[AI] I heard Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) being asked, "Is it permissible to intend (ihram) for Hajj outside the months of Hajj?" He replied, "No."

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ يُسْأَلُ أَيُهَلُّ بِالْحَجِّ فِي غَيْرِ أَشْهُرِ الْحَجِّ؟ قَالَ لَا

[AI] He heard Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) being asked about basil: Can a person in the state of Ihram smell it, or any perfume or oils? He replied, "No."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ يُسْأَلُ عَنِ الرَّيْحَانِ أَيَشُمُّهُ الْمُحْرِمُ وَالطِّيبَ وَالدُّهْنَ؟ فَقَالَ لَا
