[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was accompanying a funeral, he would not sit down until the deceased was lifted up or placed down."  

الحاكم:١٣١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْحُوشِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا كَانَ مَعَ الْجِنَازَةِ لَمْ يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى يُرْفَعَ أَوْ يُوضَعَ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ «وَلَهُ شَاهِدٌ بِمِثْلِ هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ»

أحمد:١١٤٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً لَمْ يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ  

ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْمَرْءِ عِنْدَ شُهُودِ الْجَنَازَةِ أَنْ لَا يَقْعُدَ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ

ibnhibban:3105 – Abū Khalīfah > Musaddad > Abū Muʿāwiyah > Suhayl b. Abū Ṣāliḥ from his father > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to not sit when he was with a funeral procession until the deceased was placed in the grave or buried. Abu Muawiya had doubts about this.  

ابن حبّان:٣١٠٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كَانَ مَعَ الْجَنَازَةِ لَمْ يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ أَوْ تُدْفَنَ» شَكَّ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ *
