[Machine] From the Prophet (pbuh), he said, when Adam ﷺ was about to die, he said to his sons, "Go and gather for me fruits from Paradise." So, his sons went out and the angels met them and asked, "Where are you going, O sons of Adam?" They replied, "Our father sent us to bring fruits from Paradise for him." The angels said, "Return, for you have been deceived." So, they went back along with the angels until they entered upon Adam. When Eve saw them, she became afraid of them and clung to Adam. Adam said to her, "Get away from me! You were the cause of this." By your fault, my Lord's angels have left me. The angels then took his soul and washed, enshrouded, and prayed over it. Then, they dug a grave for him, buried him, and said, "O sons of Adam, this is the tradition regarding the death of your father. So, do likewise.”  

الحاكم:١٢٧٥ – أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي نَصْرٍ الدَّارَبَرْدِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا أَبُو الْمُوَجِّهِ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَا ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أَنْبَأَ يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عُتَيٍّ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَمَّا حُضِرَ آدَمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ انْطَلِقُوا فَاجْنُوا لِي مِنْ ثِمَارِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ بَنَوْهُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ فَقَالُوا أَيْنَ تُرِيدُونَ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ؟ قَالُوا بَعْثَنَا أَبُونَا لِنَجْنِيَ لَهُ مِنْ ثِمَارِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ ارْجِعُوا فَقَدْ كُفِيتُمْ قَالَ فَرَجَعُوا مَعَهُمْ حَتَّى دَخَلُوا عَلَى آدَمَ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُمْ حَوَّاءُ ذُعِرَتْ مِنْهُمْ وَجَعَلَتْ تَدْنُو إِلَى آدَمَ وَتَلْتَصِقُ بِهِ فَقَالَ لَهَا آدَمُ إِلَيْكِ عَنِّي إِلَيْكِ عَنِّي فَمِنْ قِبَلِكِ أُتِيتُ خَلِّ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَلَائِكَةِ رَبِّي قَالَ فَقَبَضُوا رُوحَهُ ثُمَّ غَسَّلُوهُ وَحَنَّطُوهُ وَكَفَّنُوهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّوْا عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ حَفَرُوا لَهُ ثُمَّ دَفَنُوهُ ثُمَّ قَالُوا يَا بَنِي آدَمَ هَذِهِ سُنَّتُكُمْ فِي مَوْتَاكُمْ فَكَذَاكُمْ فَافْعَلُوا  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَهُوَ مِنَ النَّوْعِ الَّذِي لَا يُوجَدُ لِلتَّابِعِيِّ إِلَّا الرَّاوِي الْوَاحِدُ فَإِنَّ عُتَيَّ بْنَ ضَمْرَةَ السَّعْدِيَّ لَيْسَ لَهُ رَاوٍ غَيْرُ الْحَسَنِ وَعِنْدِي أَنَّ الشَّيْخَيْنِ عَلَّلَاهُ بِعِلَّةٍ أُخْرَى وَهُوَ أَنَّهُ رُوِيَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أُبَيٍّ دُونَ ذِكْرِ عُتَيٍّ»

[Machine] About Utayyah, he said: I saw an elder in the city speaking, so I asked about him and they said, "This is Ubayy bin Ka'b." He said, "When death approached Adam, ﷺ , he said to his sons, 'O my sons, I desire the fruits of Paradise.' So they went searching for it. The angels met them, carrying his shroud, coffin, and tools. They said to them, 'O sons of Adam, what do you seek? Where are you going?'

They replied, 'Our father is ill and he desires the fruits of Paradise.'

The angels said to them, 'Go back, for your father's decree has been fulfilled.'

So they went back, and when Hawwa (Eve) saw them, she recognized them and sought refuge with Adam. He said to her, 'I have received only what I was given from you, so keep me separated from the angels of my Lord, the Blessed and Exalted.'

They then took him, washed him, shrouded him, perfumed him, and dug his grave. They placed him in his grave and poured milk over him. Then they left the grave, spread dust over it, and said, 'O children of Adam, this is your tradition.'"  

أحمد:٢١٢٤٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ

عَنْ عُتَيٍّ قَالَرَأَيْتُ شَيْخًا بِالْمَدِينَةِ يَتَكَلَّمُ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ فَقَالُوا هَذَا أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ آدَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ لَمَّا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ أَيْ بَنِيَّ إِنِّي أَشْتَهِي مِنْ ثِمَارِ الْجَنَّةِ فَذَهَبُوا يَطْلُبُونَ لَهُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَمَعَهُمْ أَكْفَانُهُ وَحَنُوطُهُ وَمَعَهُمُ الْفُؤُوسُ وَالْمَسَاحِي وَالْمَكَاتِلُ فَقَالُوا لَهُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ مَا تُرِيدُونَ وَمَا تَطْلُبُونَ أَوْ مَا تُرِيدُونَ وَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ؟ قَالُوا أَبُونَا مَرِيضٌ فَاشْتَهَى مِنْ ثِمَارِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالُوا لَهُمْ ارْجِعُوا فَقَدْ قُضِيَ قَضَاءُ أَبِيكُمْ فَجَاءُوا فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُمْ حَوَّاءُ عَرَفَتْهُمْ فَلَاذَتْ بِآدَمَ فَقَالَ إِلَيْكِ عَنِّي فَإِنِّي إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُ مِنْ قِبَلِكِ خَلِّي بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَلَائِكَةِ رَبِّي تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَقَبَضُوهُ وَغَسَّلُوهُ وَكَفَّنُوهُ وَحَنَّطُوهُ وَحَفَرُوا لَهُ وَأَلْحَدُوا لَهُ وَصَلَّوْا عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ دَخَلُوا قَبْرَهُ فَوَضَعُوهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَوَضَعُوا عَلَيْهِ اللَّبِنَ ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا مِنَ الْقَبْرِ ثُمَّ حَثَوْا عَلَيْهِ التُّرَابَ ثُمَّ قَالُوا يَا بَنِي آدَمَ هَذِهِ سُنَّتُكُمْ

"لمَّا نزلَ بآدَمَ -عليه السَّلامُ- المَوْتُ قَال لبَنيهِ: أي بَنِيَّ إِنِّي أشْتَهِى مِنْ ثَمَرِ الْجَنَّةِ، فَانْطَلَقَ بَنُوه يَلْتَمِسُوه (*) فَوَلَّوْا الْمَلائِكَة فَقَالُوا: أَينِ تُرِيدُونَ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ؟ قَالُوا: اشْتَهَى أبُونَا مِن ثَمَرَةِ الْجنَّةِ فَانْطَلقْنَا نَطْلُبُ ذَاكَ لَهُ، فَقَالُوا: ارْجِعُوا فَقَدْ أُمِرَ بِقَبْضِ أبِيكُمْ، فَأَقْبَلُوا حَتَّى انْتَهَوْا إِلى آدَمَ، فَلَمَّا رَأتْهُم حَوَّاءُ عَرَفَتْهُم، فَلَصِقَتْ بِآدَمَ فَقَال: إِلَيكِ عَنِّي فَمِن قِبَلِكِ أُتِيتُ، دَعينى وَمَلائكَةَ رَبِّى، فَقَبْضُوه وهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ، وَغَسَّلُوه وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ، وَكَفَّنُوهُ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ وَحَنَّطُوه وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ، وَصَلَّوْا عَلَيهِ ثُمَّ حَفَرُوا لَهُ وَدَفَنُوه ثُمْ أقْبَلُوا عَلَيهِمْ فَقَالُوا: يَا بَنِي آدَمَ هَذِهِ سُنَّتُكُم فِي مَوْتَاكُم وَهَذَا سَبِيلُكُم".
