I heard that Messenger of Allah ﷺ assumed Ihram with his hair matted together.  

البخاري:١٥٤٠ – حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبَغُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ مُلَبِّدًا

"I saw the Messenger of Allah entering Ihram with his hair matted.  

النسائي:٢٦٨٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ مُلَبِّدًا  

abudawud:1747 – Sulaymān b. Dāwud al-Mahrī > Ibn Wahb > Yūnus > Ibn Shihāb > Sālim / Ibn ʿAbdullāh from his father

Ibn ʿUmar said that he heard the Prophet (SWAS) say with hair matted that he raised his voice in the talbiyah.  

أبو داود:١٧٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَهْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُهِلُّ مُلَبِّدًا  

ibnmajah:3047 – Aḥmad b. ʿAmr b. al-Sarḥ al-Miṣrī > ʿAbdullāh b. Wahb > Yūnus > Ibn Shihāb > Sālim from his father

“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting the Talbiyah when he entered Ihram with something applied to his head to keep the hair together.’”  

ابن ماجة:٣٠٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
