64.3 The story of the Ghazwa of Badr

[Machine] And the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "And Allah had certainly helped you at Badr while you were weak. So fear Allah that you may be grateful. [Remember] when you said to the believers, 'Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down? Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allah and the enemy come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction].' And Allah made it not but good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not but from Allah. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. [Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which he purifies you and removes from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereon your feet." And Wahshi said: "Hamza ibn 'Adi ibn al-Khayar was killed on the Day of Badr." And His saying, the Exalted: "And [remember, O Muhammad], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours." (Surah Al-Anfal, Ayah 9).

I never failed to join Messenger of Allah ﷺ in any of his Ghazawat except in the Ghazwa of Tabuk. However, I did not take part in the Ghazwa of Badr, but none who failed to take part in it, was blamed, for Messenger of Allah ﷺ had gone out to meet the caravans of (Quraish, but Allah caused them (i.e. Muslims) to meet their enemy unexpectedly (with no previous intention) .
