[Machine] "And the small amount of charity is like those who spend their wealth seeking the pleasure of Allah and to strengthen their souls" verse, and until His saying: "from all kinds of fruits."

Not chastising those who give charity as much as they are able to

bukhari:1415ʿUbaydullāh b. Saʿīd > Abū al-Nuʿmān al-Ḥakam b. ʿAbdullāh al-Baṣrī > Shuʿbah > Sulaymān > Abū Wāʾil > Abū Masʿūd

When the ayah of charity was revealed, we used to hire ourselves out to carry loads. Then a man came and gave a large amount in charity, so they said, "He is showing off." Another man came and gave a saʿ in charity, so they said, "Allah has no need of this man's saʿ." Then there was revealed: "Those who criticize the willing givers among the believers regarding charities, and those who find nothing except their own effort..." (Tawbah 9:79) to the end of the ayah.

bukhari:1416Saʿīd b. Yaḥyá from my father > al-Aʿmash > Shaqīq > Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī

Whenever Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered us to give in charity, we used to go to the market and work as porters and get a Mudd (a special measure of grain) and then give it in charity. (Those were the days of poverty) and today some of us have one hundred thousand.

No charity is insignificant

bukhari:1417Sulaymān b. Ḥarb > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAbdullāh b. Maʿqil > ʿAdī b. Ḥātim

I heard the the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Protect yourself from Hellfire even by giving half a date ˹in charity˺."

Treating daughters with compassion during difficulty is a shield from Hellfire

bukhari:1418Bishr b. Muḥammad > ʿAbdullāh > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Bakr b. Ḥazm > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

A woman came with two daughters of hers, asking ˹for charity˺. I did not find anything with me except a single date, so I gave it to her. She divided it between her two daughters and did not eat any of it herself. Then she got up and left. Then the Prophet ﷺ came in to us, and I informed him, and he said: “Whoever is tested with something of these daughters, they will be a shield for him from the Fire.”
