I said to IbnʼUmar ؓ : What about a man who engaged in liʿan with his wife? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would separate them - and he mentioned the hadeeth. (Using translation from Aḥmad 398)   

البيهقي:٩١٦٦ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ مُوسَى قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ وَأَنَا مُحْرِمٌ فَسَأَلْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ فَقَالَ

يُفَرَّقُ بَيْنَهُمَا

وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمَا»

«فَرَّقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْ بَنِي عَجْلَانَ»
