[Machine] "He stole from her two men from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , both of whom were not averse to doing good. One of them would hasten the sunset prayer and hasten the breaking of the fast, while the other would delay the sunset prayer and delay the breaking of the fast. She asked, 'Which of them hastens the sunset prayer and hastens the breaking of the fast?' Ibn Mas'ood said, 'This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do.'"  

البيهقي:٢١٠٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ الْحَذَّاءُ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمَدِينِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةِ أَخْبَرَنِي الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ الْوَادِعِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ مَعَ مَسْرُوقٍ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقَالَ

لَهَا مَسْرُوقٌ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كِلَاهُمَا لَا يَأْلُو عَنِ الْخَيْرِ أَحَدُهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَالْآخَرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْإِفْطَارَ قَالَتْ أَيُّهُمَا الَّذِي يُعَجِّلُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ؟ قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَتْ هَكَذَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

I and Misruq went to 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) and Masruq said to her: There are two persons among the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ none of whom abandons the good, but one of them hastens to observe sunset prayer and break the fast, and the other delays in observing the sunset prayer and in breaking the fast, whereupon she said: Who hastens to observe sunset prayer and break the fast? He said: It is 'Abdullah. Upon this she said: This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do.  

مسلم:١٠٩٩b – وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَمَسْرُوقٌ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ ؓ فَقَالَ لَهَا مَسْرُوقٌ: رَجُلاَنِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ كِلاَهُمَا لاَ يَأْلُو عَنِ الْخَيْرِ: أَحَدُهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَالإِفْطَارَ، وَالآخَرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَالإِفْطَارَ۔ فَقَالَتْ: مَنْ يُعَجِّلُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَالإِفْطَارَ؟ قَالَ: عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَقَالَتْ: هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ

"I said to 'Aishah: 'Among us there are two of the Companions of the Prophet, one of whom hastens Iftar and delays Sahur, and the other delays Iftar and hastens Sahur.' She said: 'Which of them is the one who hastens Ifar and delays Sahur?' I said: "Abdullah bin Masud.' She said: 'That is what the Messenger of Allah used to do."'

"Masruq and I came to 'Aishah, and Masruq said to her: 'There are two men from among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah both of whom are good; one of them delays the prayer and Ifar, and the other hastens the prayer and Iftar.' 'Aishah said: 'Which of them is the one who hastens the prayer and Iftar?' Masruq said: 'That is what the Messenger of Allah used to do."'

One of them hastens for the prayer and hastens for iftar (breaking the fast), while the other delays the prayer and delays iftar." She said, "Which of them hastens for the prayer and hastens for iftar?" We replied, "Abdullah." She said, "This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do, and the other one is Abu Musa."
