[Machine] The companion Shu'bah said, "I heard it from Abu Ishaq around forty years ago or more." Abu Dawood said, "I heard it from Shu'bah around forty-five or forty-six years ago." He said, "A man came to the Prophet and said, 'Messenger of Allah, tell me about an action that will admit me into Paradise.' He said, 'Say, 'I believe in Allah' and then be just and treat people with kindness.' He said, 'What if I cannot do that?' He said, 'Then feed the needy and spread peace among people.' He said, 'What if I cannot do that?' He said, 'Do you have any camels?' He replied, 'Yes.' The Prophet said, 'Then look for a camel that is weak and thin and give it water to drink. Look for a household that does not have water and provide it for them. Verily, you may not spend from your camel or your water container until Paradise becomes obligatory for you.'"

tabarani:16533Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm al-Dabarī > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Bī Isḥāq > Kudayr al-Ḍabbī

[Machine] A bedouin man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Inform me of an action that will bring me close to paradise and keep me away from the hellfire." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Have the two matters weighed heavily upon you?" The Bedouin man replied, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You should speak justly and give preference to others." The man said, "By Allah, I cannot speak justly every hour, and I cannot give preference to others over my own wealth." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Feed the hungry and spread peace." The man said, "This is also difficult for me." The Prophet ﷺ then asked, "Do you have any camels?" The man replied, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Look for a camel from your herd that is weak and its belly is down, then give it water to drink and go to a household that does not have water except very little and give them the water. Perhaps you will not lose your camel or have your water supply broken, and as a result, you will be granted paradise." So, the Bedouin man left while uttering takbeer (saying "Allahu Akbar") and his camel did not have its water supply broken, nor did his camel die, until he was martyred.

[Machine] A Bedouin man came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and asked, "Inform me of a deed that will bring me closer to obeying Allah and keep me away from the Fire." The Prophet asked, "Have the two qualities become a part of you?" The man replied, "Yes." The Prophet advised, "Then you should speak the truth and give what is in excess." The man said, "By Allah, I cannot speak the truth all the time, and I cannot give what is in excess." The Prophet then said, "Feed the hungry and spread peace." The man said, "This is also difficult." The Prophet asked, "Do you have camels?" The man replied, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Look for a weak camel from your herd and give it to the people of Abiyyat who do not have drinking water except from wells far away. Perhaps your camel will not die and your watering vessel will not break until you reach Paradise." The Bedouin man then left while reciting takbir (saying Allahu Akbar). It is said that his watering vessel did not break, and his camel did not die until he was killed as a martyr.
