[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be brought two rams in the morning, with black legs, salted and standing with their horns. He would slaughter one of them on behalf of his ummah who testified to the oneness of Allah and testified to him as a Messenger. And he would slaughter the other ram on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. In another narration, when it was morning, he would buy two fat rams with black legs, salted and standing with their horns. This was mentioned by Hammad ibn Salamah, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Abdul Rahman ibn Jabir, from his father. And it was narrated by Zuhair ibn Muhammad, from Abdullah, from Ali ibn Hussain, from Abu Rafi'. And it is as if he heard it from the two of them.

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , would buy two healthy, fat, and horned rams when it was the time for sacrifice. Then, when he delivered the sermon and performed the prayer, he would slaughter one of the rams with his own hands and say, "O Allah, this is on behalf of my entire Ummah, anyone who bears witness to Your Oneness and testifies for me in delivering the message." Then, he would bring the other ram and slaughter it, saying, "O Allah, this is on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." Then, he would feed the poor with the meat of the two rams and he and his family would also eat from it. We remained in this condition for many years, and Allah relieved us from poverty and distress. None of the Banu Hashim would sacrifice in the same manner as he did. Translation Reference: Sahih Muslim, Book of Sacrificial Animals, Hadith 1968.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sacrifice two horned rams. He would begin with one of them and say, "In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, (this sacrifice is) from You and for You on behalf of Muhammad and his Ummah, whoever testifies to Your Oneness and testifies to my Prophethood." And then he would slaughter the other ram and say the same words, except replacing "from You and for You" with "from Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." This is the wording of the hadith of Ibn Bashran and in the narration of Ibn Abdan it is mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ used to buy two fat, horned rams, salted (preserved), and sacrificed one of them on behalf of his Ummah, whoever testifies to his Prophethood and testifies to his message, and the other on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad."
