[Machine] He said that he heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "Whoever fights in the cause of Allah, from a Muslim man, surpassing the value of a camel, then Paradise is obligatory for him. And whoever asks Allah for martyrdom sincerely from himself, and then dies or is killed, then he will have the reward of a martyr. And whoever is wounded in the cause of Allah, or is afflicted with a calamity, then it will come on the Day of Judgment as bright as saffron in color and its fragrance like musk. And whoever goes out in the cause of Allah, he will have the mark of martyrs on him." And 'Ali bin Ahmad bin 'Abdan informed us, Ahmad bin 'Ubayd As-Saffar informed us, Ahmad bin 'Ubaydullah An-Narsy informed us, Hajjaj bin Muhammad informed us, Ibn Juraij informed me, Sulaiman bin Musa informed me from Malik bin Yakhmar, from Mu'adh bin Jabal, and he mentioned it in a similar way, and likewise.  

البيهقي:١٨٥٥٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنبأ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ يَخَامِرَ أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ ؓ حَدَّثَهُمْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If anyone fights in Allah's path as long as the time between two milkings of a she-camel, Paradise will be assured for him. If anyone sincerely asks Allah for being killed and then dies or is killed, there will be a reward of a martyr for him. Ibn al-Musaffa added from here: If anyone is wounded in Allah's path, or suffers a misfortune, it will come on the Day of resurrection as copious as possible, its colour saffron, and its odour musk; and if anyone suffers from ulcers while in Allah's path, he will have on him the stamp of the martyrs.  

أبو داود:٢٥٤١ – حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ أَبُو مَرْوَانَ وَابْنُ الْمُصَفَّى قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ عَنِ ابْنِ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَرُدُّ إِلَى مَكْحُولٍ إِلَى مَالِكِ بْنِ يُخَامِرَ أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ

السيوطي:٢٢٤٢٨a – عن معاذ بن جبل

"مَنْ قَاتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فوَاقَ نَاقَةٍ فَقَدْ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ، وَمَنْ سَأَلَ الْقَتْلَ مِنْ نَفْسِه صَادِقًا ثُمَّ مَاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ فَإِنَّ لَهُ أَجْر شَهِيدٍ، وَمَنْ جُرِحَ جُرْحًا فِي سَبِيلِ الله أَوْ نكِبَ نَكْبَةً فَإِنَّهَا تَجئُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَأَغْزَر مَا كَانَتْ، لَونُهَا لَوْنُ الزَّعْفَرَانِ وَرِيحُهَا رِيح الْمِسْكِ، وَمَنْ خَرَجَ بِهِ خُرَاجٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَان عَلَيهِ طَابَعُ الشُّهَدَاءِ".
