[Machine] The dawn is two dawns. It rises during the night when eating and drinking are allowed but praying is not, and it rises when praying is allowed but eating and drinking are forbidden. It is the one that spreads over the mountaintops.  

البيهقي:١٧٦٨ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

Two types of Fajr times: the false dawn and the true dawn

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There are two ˹types˺ of Fajr (dawn) ˹times˺: a Fajr in which food is forbidden while prayer becomes permissible, and a Fajr in which prayer is forbidden while food becomes permissible.  

الحاكم:٦٨٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ أَصْلُهُ بَغْدَادِيٌّ بِالْفُسْطَاطِ ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «الْفَجْرُ فَجْرَانِ فَجْرٌ يَحْرُمُ فِيهِ الطَّعَامُ وَتَحِلُّ فِيهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَفَجْرٌ تَحْرُمُ فِيهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَيَحِلُّ فِيهِ الطَّعَامُ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ فِي عَدَالَةِ الرُّوَاةِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَأَظُنُّ أَنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ مَوْقُوفًا وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ وَلَهُ شَاهِدٌ بِلَفْظٍ مُفَسَّرٍ وَإِسْنَادُهُ صَحِيحٌ على شرطهما
