bayhaqi:17614Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ And ʾAbū Bakr b. al-Ḥasan al-Qāḍī > Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > Abū ʿUtbah > Baqiyyah > Warqāʾ b. ʿUmar > Jābir b. Yazīd > Yazīd b. Murrah > Abū Majzaʾah > Man Adhnab

[Machine] He said, "Whoever commits a sin, let them come to us so that we may purify them." So, a group came to him and he struck them. Salman al-Farisi came to him, angry, and said, "Should we make repentance for you from Allah?" He replied, "No." He then said, "Then take the whip and do not uncover what Allah has covered for you." It has been narrated to us that 'Ikrima said, "Ammar ibn Yasir had his garment stolen. He identified the thief and left him." And 'Ikrima also said, "Ibn Abbas was brought a thief who had stolen from his slave. He gave him more and released him."
