[Machine] Will I not read to you a book that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for me? So he brought out a book and behold, in it was what Al-A`da' bin Khalid bin Hawzah purchased from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. He bought from him a male or female slave who was suffering from neither illness nor blemish, and there was no deceit in the transaction between the two Muslim parties. The sheikh said, "This Hadith is known by the name of Abbad bin Al-Laith, and we have transcribed it from another reliable source."  

البيهقي:١٠٧٨٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّادُ بْنُ لَيْثٍ صَاحِبُ الْكَرَابِيسِ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ يَعْنِي أَبَا وَهْبٍ عَنِ الْعَدَّاءِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ قَالَ

أَلَا أُقْرِئُكَ كِتَابًا كَتَبَهُ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَأَخْرَجَ كِتَابًا فَإِذَا فِيهِ هَذَا مَا اشْتَرَى الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ اشْتَرَى مِنْهُ عَبْدًا أَوْ أُمَّةً عَبَّادٌ يَشُكُّ لَا دَاءَ لَهُ وَلَا غَائِلَةَ وَلَا خِبْثَةَ بَيْعَ الْمُسْلِمِ الْمُسْلِمَ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ يُعْرَفُ بِعَبَّادِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ وَقَدْ كَتَبْنَاهُ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ غَيْرِ مُعْتَمَدٍ

"Abdul Majid bin Wahb narrated to us, he said: 'Al-'Adda' bin Khalid bin Hawdhah said to me: "Shall I not read to you a letter that was written for me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?'" So he took out a letter for me: "This is what Al-'Adda' bin Khalid bin Hawdhah purchased from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: He purchased from him a slave' - or - 'a female slave, having no ailments, nor being a runaway, nor having any malicious behavior. Sold by a Muslim to a Muslim.'"  

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib, we do not know of it except from 'Abbad bin Laith. More than one of the people of Hadith have reported this Hadith from him.
الترمذي:١٢١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ لَيْثٍ صَاحِبُ الْكَرَابِيسِيِّ الْبَصْرِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ قَالَ

لِي الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ أَلاَ أُقْرِئُكَ كِتَابًا كَتَبَهُ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ قُلْتُ بَلَى فَأَخْرَجَ لِي كِتَابًا هَذَا مَا اشْتَرَى الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ اشْتَرَى مِنْهُ عَبْدًا أَوْ أَمَةً لاَ دَاءَ وَلاَ غَائِلَةَ وَلاَ خِبْثَةَ بَيْعَ الْمُسْلِمِ الْمُسْلِمَ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ لَيْثٍ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْحَدِيثِ

الكبرى للنسائي:١١٦٨٨ – عَنِ ابْنِ مُثَنَّى عَنْ عَبَّادٍ صَاحِبِ الْكَرَابِيسِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ قَالَ

قَالَ لِيَ الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ أَلَا أُقْرِئَكَ كِتَابًا كَتَبَهُ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ بَلَى فَأَخْرَجَ لِي كِتَابًا «هَذَا مَا اشْتَرَى الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ اشْتَرَى مِنْهُ عَبْدًا أَوْ أُمَّةً لَا دَاءَ وَلَا غَائِلَةَ وَلَا خِبْثَةَ بَيْعَ الْمُسْلِمِ الْمُسْلِمَ»

"Adda' bin Khalid bin Hawdhah said to me: 'Shall I not read to you a letter that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, wrote to me?' I said: 'Yes.' So he took out a letter. قَالَ الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ أَلَا أُقْرِئُكُمْ كِتَابًا كَتَبَهُ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقُلْنَا بَلَى فَإِذَا فِيهِ مَكْتُوبٌ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ هَذَا مَا اشْتَرَى الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ اشْتَرَى مِنْهُ عَبْدًا أَوْ أَمَةً شَكَّ عُثْمَانُ بِيَاعَةً أَوْ بَيْعَ الْمُسْلِمِ الْمُسْلِمَ لَا دَاءَ وَلَا غَائِلَةَ وَلَا خِبْثَةَ
