[Machine] Abu Hurairah was in a journey and when they stopped, they sent for him while he was praying. He said, "I am fasting." When they laid out the food and were about to eat, he came and they said, "Come and eat." So he ate. Then the people looked at the Messenger of Allah and he said, "What are you looking at?" They said, "Abu Hurairah said that he was fasting." Abu Hurairah said, "He spoke the truth and indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Fasting for the month of patience and three days from every month is fasting for the whole lifetime. So I have fasted for three days from the beginning of the month and now I am breaking my fast in response to the concession of Allah while still being considered a fasting person in the eyes of Allah.' "  

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا نَزَلُوا أَرْسَلُوا إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَقَالَ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَلَمَّا وَضَعُوا الطَّعَامَ وَكَادُوا أَنْ يَفْرَغُوا جَاءَ فَقَالُوا هَلُمَّ فَكُلْ فَأَكَلَ فَنَظَرَ الْقَوْمُ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ فَقَالَ مَا تَنْظُرُونَ؟ فَقَالَ وَاللهِ لَقَدْ قَالَ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ صَدَقَ وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ صَوْمُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ وَثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ كُلِّهِ فَقَدْ صُمْتُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ فَأَنَا مُفْطِرٌ فِي تَخْفِيفِ اللهِ صَائِمٌ فِي تَضْعِيفِ اللهِ  

[Machine] Abu Huraira was traveling, and when they arrived and put down the luggage, they sent for him while he was praying. He said, "Indeed, I am fasting." When they were about to finish, he came and started eating. The people looked at their messenger and he said, "Why are you looking at me? By Allah, he informed me that he was fasting." Abu Huraira said, "He spoke the truth. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever fasts three days of each month, it is as if he fasted the whole month.' I have been fasting three days of each month, and indeed, I am fasting the whole month. And I found the confirmation of that in the book of Allah, the Exalted: 'Whoever brings a good deed, he will have ten times its reward.'"  

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا نَزَلُوا وَوُضِعَتِ السَّفَرَةُ بَعَثُوا إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَقَالَ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَلَمَّا كَادُوا أَنْ يَفْرُغُوا جَاءَ فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ فَنَظَرَ الْقَوْمُ إِلَى رَسُولِهِمْ فَقَالَ مَا تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيَّ قَدْ وَاللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ صَدَقَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ صَامَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ فَقَدْ صَامَ الشَّهْرَ كُلَّهُ» وَقَدْ صُمْتُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَإِنِّي الشَّهْرَ كُلَّهُ صَائِمٌ وَوَجَدْتُ تَصْدِيقَ ذَلِكَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا}  

[Machine] That Abu Hurayrah was on a journey and when they reached their destination, they sent food to him while he was praying. He said to the Messenger ﷺ , "I am fasting." When the food was set and they were about to leave, he came and started eating. The people looked at their messenger, so he said, "Why do you look? He informed me that he is fasting." Abu Hurayrah said, "He spoke the truth. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Fasting for the month of patience and fasting three days of every month are fasting for the entire year. So I have fasted three days of this month, and I am breaking my fast due to the concession of Allah and fasting due to the multiplication of Allah.'"  

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ لَهُ فَلَمَّا نَزَلُوا أَرْسَلُوا إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي لِيَطْعَمَ فَقَالَ لِلرَّسُولِ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَلَمَّا وُضِعَ الطَّعَامُ وَكَادُوا يَفْرُغُونَ فَجَاءَ فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ فَنَظَرَ الْقَوْمُ إِلَى رَسُولِهِمْ فَقَالَ مَا تَنْظُرُونَ قَدْ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ صَدَقَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ صَوْمُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ وَصَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ فَقَدْ صُمْتُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ فَأَنَا مُفْطِرٌ فِي تَخْفِيفِ اللهِ وَصَائِمٌ فِي تَضْعِيفِ اللهِ  

"عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيرةَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَحَضَر الطَّعَامُ، وأَبَو هُرَيرَةَ يُصَلِّي فأرْسَلُوا إِلَيْه فَقَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَأَقْبل الْقَومُ وفَرَغَ أبُو هُرْيرةَ مِنْ صَلاتِهِ وَجَاءَ وَجَلَسَ عَلى الْمَائِدَةِ فَجَعَلَ يْأكُلُ، فَنَظَرُوا إلَى الرَّسُولِ فَقَالَ الرسُولُ: مَا تَنْظُرُون إِلِيَّ هُوَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ صِائِمٌ، فَقَالَ أَبو هُرَيرَة: صَدَقَ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يقول: صِيَامُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ، وصيَام ثلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ فأنَا صَائِمٌ فِي تضعيف اللهِ، ومُفْطرٌ فِي رُخْصَةِ اللهِ - ﷻ-".
