[Machine] Ziyad ibn Hudayr, I wished that I was in a space made of iron, which would render me incapable of speaking to people and them speaking to me.  

أحمد:٧٩٩٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقُمِّيِّ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ

زِيَادُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي فِي حَيِّزٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ مَعِي مَا يُصْلِحُنِي لَا أُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُونِي

الزهد لأحمد:٢١٦٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ أَبِي ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ حُدَيْرٍ قَالَ

«لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي فِي حَيْرٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ مَعِي فِيهِ مَا يُصْلِحُنِي لَا أُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُونِي حَتَّى أَلْقَى اللَّهَ ﷻ»
