ahmad:6296Ibn Numayr > al-Aʿmash > Mujāhid > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Give permission to women to enter the mosques at night." Ibn Abdullah ibn Umar replied: "By Allah, we will prevent them from doing so, as they will use it as an opportunity for their personal needs." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Would you then stop them?!"  

أحمد:٦٢٩٦حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ائْذَنُوا لِلنِّسَاءِ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ ابْنٌ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ وَاللهِ لَنَمْنَعُهُنَّ يَتَّخِذْنَهُ دَغَلًا لِحَوَائِجِهِنَّ فَقَالَ فَعَلَ اللهُ بِكَ وَفَعَلَ أَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَتَقُولُ لَا نَدَعُهُنَّ؟!

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not prevent women from going to the mosque at night. A boy said to 'Abdullah b. Umar: We would never let them go out, that they may not be caught in evil. He (the narrator) said: Ibn Umar reprimanded him and said.. I am saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said this, but you say: We would not allow!  

مسلم:٤٤٢eحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَمْنَعُوا النِّسَاءَ مِنَ الْخُرُوجِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ ابْنٌ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ لاَ نَدَعُهُنَّ يَخْرُجْنَ فَيَتَّخِذْنَهُ دَغَلاً قَالَ فَزَبَرَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَقَالَ أَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَتَقُولُ لاَ نَدَعُهُنَّ  

tirmidhi:570Naṣr b. ʿAlī > ʿĪsá b. Yūnus > al-Aʿmash > Mujāhid

"We were with Ibn Umar, and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah said: "Permit the women to go at night to the Masajid." His son said: 'By Allah! We would not permit them lest they become insidious from that.' So he (Abdullah) retorted: 'May Allah do and such with you.' I say: "The Messenger of Allah said," and you say: "We do not permit them?"  

الترمذي:٥٧٠حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ايذَنُوا لِلنِّسَاءِ بِاللَّيْلِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ فَقَالَ ابْنُهُ وَاللَّهِ لاَ نَأْذَنُ لَهُنَّ يَتَّخِذْنَهُ دَغَلاً فَقَالَ فَعَلَ اللَّهُ بِكَ وَفَعَلَ أَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَتَقُولُ لاَ نَأْذَنُ لَهُنَّ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَزَيْنَبَ امْرَأَةِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allow women to go to the mosque at night." A son of Abdullah ibn Umar then said, "By Allah, we will not give them permission as they will take advantage of that for their own needs." Abdullah scolded him and said, "Shame on you! I am repeating the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and you say that you will not do it!"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allow women to go to the mosques at night." Some of his sons objected, saying, "Do not allow them, as they may cause disturbance." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah deal with you accordingly. I say to let them go and you say not to."  

ابن حبّان:٢٢١٠أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ وَعِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «ائْذَنُوا لِلنِّسَاءِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ بِاللَّيْلِ» فَقَالَ بَعْضُ بَنِيهِ لَا تَأْذَنْ لَهُنَّ فَيَتَّخِذْنَهُ دَغَلًا قَالَ «فَعَلَ اللَّهُ بِكَ وَفَعَلَ أَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَتَقُولُ لَا تَأْذَنْ»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allow women to go to the Mosques at night." (Using translation from Bukhārī 899)  

الطبراني:١٣٤٧١حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ائْذَنُوا لِلنِّسَاءِ بِاللَّيْلِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ» فَقَالَ ابْنُهُ وَاللهِ لَا نَأْذَنُ لَهُنُّ فَيَتَّخِذْنَ ذَلِكَ دَغَلًا فَقَالَ فَعَلَ اللهُ بِكَ وَفَعَلَ بِكَ تَسْمَعُنِي أَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَتَقُولُ أَنْتَ لَا قَالَ لَيْثٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَيَخْرُجْنَ تَفِلَاتٍ
