ahmad:4851 – Yazīd > Ḥajjāj b. Arṭāh > And Barah > Ibn ʿUmar

[Machine] I heard Ibn Umar saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded the killing of the wolf as a Haram (prohibited) animal, meaning the mouse, the crow, and the jerboa (a small desert rodent). It was then asked, "What about the snake and the scorpion?" He replied, "It was said that they are included."  

أحمد:٤٨٥١ – حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ وَبَرَةَ

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِقَتْلِ الذِّئْبِ لِلْمُحْرِمِ يَعْنِي وَالْفَأْرَةَ وَالْغُرَابَ وَالْحِدَأَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَالْحَيَّةُوَالْعَقْرَبُ؟ فَقَالَ قَدْ كَانَ يُقَالُ ذَاكَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the killing of mice, crows, and wolves. It was said to Ibn Umar: "What about snakes and scorpions?" He replied: "It was said that these were included."

He replied, "It has been said." Yazid ibn Harun, meaning Al-Muharram Al-Hajjaj ibn 'Urata, said, "It is not to be relied upon." And we have narrated a good Marasil hadith from Ibn Misjah.  

البيهقي:١٠٠٤١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ أنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ يَحْيَى 10042 ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ وَبَرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِقَتْلِ الذِّئْبِ وَالْفَأْرَةِ وَالْحِدَأَةِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ وَالْحَيَّةُ وَالْعَقْرَبُ فَقَالَ قَدْ كَانَ يُقَالُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ يَعْنِي الْمُحْرِمَ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ لَا يُحْتَجُّ بِهِ وَقَدْ رُوِّينَا مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ مُرْسَلًا جَيِّدًا
