[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Indeed, Allah has not forbidden something as prohibited unless He knows that it will be sought after by you. Verily, I am taking hold of your security not to engage in acts that will cause you to fall into the Fire, like the fluttering of moths or flies.

أحمد:٣٧٠٤ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الثَقَفِي أَوِالْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ شَكَّ الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ عَبْدَةَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ حُرْمَةً إِلَّا وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَطَّلِعُهَا مِنْكُمْ مُطَّلِعٌ أَلَا وَإِنِّي آخِذٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ أَنْ تَهَافَتُوا فِي النَّارِ كَتَهَافُتِ الْفَرَاشِ أَوِ الذُّبَابِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, Allah has not prohibited anything unless He knows that you will be tempted by it. And indeed, I am holding onto your reins to prevent you from rushing into the Fire like the rushing of the moth or flies." He said: "Does the moth or flies increase?"

أحمد:٤٠٢٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ وَيَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدَةَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ حُرْمَةً إِلَّا وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَطَّلِعُهَا مِنْكُمْ مُطَّلِعٌ أَلَا وَإِنِّي مُمْسِكٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ أَنْ تَهَافَتُوا فِي النَّارِ كَتَهَافُتِ الْفَرَاشِ وَالذُّبَابِ قَالَ يَزِيدُ الْفَرَاشِ أَوِ الذُّبَابِ

tabarani:10511 – Yūsuf al-Qāḍī > ʿAmr b. Marzūq > al-Masʿūdī > al-Ḥasan b. Saʿd > ʿAbdah al-Nahdī > ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Verily, Allah has not prohibited anything except that He knows that it will harm you. Behold, I am restraining you from rushing towards the fire, just as the chick and the flies rush to it."

الطبراني:١٠٥١١ – حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدَةَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ حُرْمَةً إِلَّا وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَطَّلِعُهَا مِنْكُمْ مُطَّلِعٌ أَلَا وَإِنِّي مُمْسِكٌ بِحُجُزِكُمْ أَنْ تَهَافَتُونَ فِي النَّارِ كَمَا تَهَافَتَ الْفَرَاشُ وَالذُّبَابُ»

"إِنَّ الله ﷻ لَمْ يُحرِّمْ حُرْمَةً إلَّا وَقَدْ عَلم أنَّهُ سَيَطَّلِعُها مِنكمْ مطِلعٌ، أَلا وَإنِّي مُمْسِكٌ بحُجَزِكُمْ أنْ تَتَهافَتُوا في النَّارِ كما يَتَهَافَتُ الْفَرَاشُ والذُّبابُ".
