(From the daughter of Khalid bin Sa id bin Al-ʿAsi) who said that she had heard the Prophet ﷺ seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave.

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

I heard the Prophet ﷺ seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave.

سَمِعَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ غَيْرَهَا قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his prayer, seeking refuge with Allah from the afflictions of Ad-Dajjal.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسْتَعِيذُ فِي صَلاَتِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ

Abu Huraira reported. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking refuge from the torment of the grave after this (after the revelation).

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَسْتَعِيذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

Never did he (the Holy Prophet) say prayer after this in which I did not hear him seeking refuge from the torment of the grave.

وَمَا صَلَّى صَلاَةً بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ سَمِعْتُهُ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

1 heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking refuge from the trial of Dajjal (Antichrist) in prayer.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسْتَعِيذُ فِي صَلاَتِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah after that seeking refuge with Allah from the torment of the grave."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَسْتَعِيذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

"We were with Fadalah bin 'Ubaid in the land of the Romans, and a companion of ours died. Fadalah ordered that his grave be made level, then he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah commanding that it be made level."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2030)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُ بِتَسْوِيَةِ الْقُبُورِ
