ahmad:20800 – ʿAffān > Hammām > Qatādah > Akhadh Ibn Sīrīn Ghuslah > Um ʿAṭiyyah

[Machine] We washed the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he commanded us to wash her with sidr (a type of plant) three times, if she survives, and if not, then five times, if she survives, and if not, then more than that. She said, so we saw that more than that (seven times).  

أحمد:٢٠٨٠٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ أَخَذَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ غُسْلَهُ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ

غَسَّلْنَا ابْنَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَغْسِلَهَا بِالسِّدْرِ ثَلَاثًا فَإِنْ أَنْجَتْ وَإِلَّا فَخَمْسًا فَإِنْ أَنْجَتْ وَإِلَّا فَأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ فَرَأَيْنَا أَنَّ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ سَبْعٌ
