ahmad:20278ʿAbd al-Raḥman > ʿAbbād b. Rāshid > al-Ḥasan > a man from Banī Salīṭ

[Machine] He passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting at the gate of the mosque with a worn-out garment that does not have any other covering on it, and he was saying, "The Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, he does not wrong him nor does he abandon him. Taqwa (piety) is here." The Prophet ﷺ pointed to his chest with his hand.  

أحمد:٢٠٢٧٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي سَلِيطٍ

أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ عَلَى بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ قِطْرِيٌّ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غَيْرُهُ مُحْتَبٍ بِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا وَيُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ

[Machine] "He passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting at the gate of his mosque, with a cloak around him that had a patch, and he was saying: 'A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, who neither wrongs him nor abandons him.' Then he pointed to his chest and said: 'Piety is here, piety is here.'"  

أحمد:١٦٦٤٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رَاشِدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَلِيطٍ

[Machine] He passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting at the door of his mosque, with his head covered and wearing a garment that had a hole through which there was no other garment. He was saying, "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not wrong him or let him down." Then he pointed to his chest and said, "Here is Taqwa (piety), here is Taqwa."
