[Machine] When Sulaykah came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering a sermon, so he sat down. The Prophet ﷺ commanded him to pray two rak'ahs. Muhammad ﷺ mentioned in his hadith that Sulaykah then turned towards the people and said, "When one of you comes and the Imam is delivering a sermon, let him pray two rak'ahs as a precaution."

أحمد:١٤١٧١ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ح وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الْإِسْكَافُ إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يُحَدِّثُ

أَنَّ سُلَيْكًا جَاءَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَجَلَسَ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَتَجَوَّزُ فِيهِمَا

He (the Prophet) turned to the people and said: When one of you comes (on Friday) while the imam is preaching, he should pray two rak'ahs and make them short.

أَنَّ سُلَيْكًا جَاءَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ زَادَ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ قَالَ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَالإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَتَجَوَّزُ فِيهِمَا

[Machine] Salik Al-Ghatafani came while the Prophet ﷺ was delivering a sermon, so the Prophet ﷺ ordered him to pray two units of prayer in which he would perform acts of tashahhud. He said, "When any of you comes while the imam is delivering the sermon, let him pray two units of prayer in which he would perform acts of tashahhud."

الطبراني:٦٧١١ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ خَتَنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْنٍ الْوَاسِطِيِّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ زَاذَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ سُلَيْكٌ الْغَطَفَانِيُّ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَتَجَوَّزُ فِيهِمَا وَقَالَ «إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَتَجَوَّزُ فِيهِمَا»
