[Machine] That the general public witnessed in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ the sighting of the crescent moon, so he ordered the people to break their fast and to go out for their celebration from the next day.  

أحمد:١٣٩٧٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ عُمُومَةً لَهُ شَهِدُوا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَلَى رُؤْيَةِ الْهِلَالِ فَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يُفْطِرُوا وَأَنْ يَخْرُجُوا إِلَى عِيدِهِمْ مِنَ الْغَدِ
