It was narrated from Muhammad bin ʿAli, from ʿAli ؓ , that the Prophet ﷺ used to fast continually from pre-dawn to pre-dawn.  

أحمد:١١٩٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوَاصِلُ مِنَ السَّحَرِ إِلَى السَّحَرِ
