The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would relieve himself, then eat meat with us and recite Qurʿan, and nothing stopped him or prevented him (from reciting Qurʿan) except janabah.  

أحمد:١٠١١حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلِمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْضِي الْحَاجَةَ فَيَأْكُلُ مَعَنَا اللَّحْمَ وَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَحْجِزُهُ أَوْ يَحْجُبُهُ إِلا الْجَنَابَةُ

"I came to 'Ali with two other men and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to come out of the toilet and recite Qur'an, and he would eat meat with us and nothing would prevent him from (reciting) Qur'an except Janabah."

"I entered upon 'Ali bin Abu Talib and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah used to go to the lavatory and relieve himself, then come out, and he would eat bread and meat with us and recite Qur'an, nothing stopped him' or perhaps he said: 'prevented him from doing so except sexual impurity.'"  

ابن ماجة:٥٩٤حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلِمَةَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْتِي الْخَلاَءَ فَيَقْضِي الْحَاجَةَ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فَيَأْكُلُ مَعَنَا الْخُبْزَ وَاللَّحْمَ وَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَلاَ يَحْجُبُهُ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ وَلاَ يَحْجُزُهُ عَنِ الْقُرْآنِ شَىْءٌ إِلاَّ الْجَنَابَةُ

Two men and I came to ‘Ali ؓ , who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was relieving himself, then he came out and recited Qurʿan and ate meat with us. Nothing prevented or stopped him from reciting Qurʿan except janabah.
